Yes. And their standing in the world just went up.

The pirates will think twice about attacking any Russian flagged ship. Believe me.
The fun part is that the ship was Russian owned, but Liberian flagged. So checking the flag does the pirates no good.

The penalty for piracy on the high seas has always been immediate death.

Well, at least one on the photo is beaten or shot to death.
Note three armed marines there.
Probably the shirtless one, bent and with what appears to be a blood around his feet, did not survive the Russian recapture of the vessel.
He may have been the lucky one.

Putting them in a boat like this was only one small step above making them walk the plank.
Yo ho, yo ho, a pirate’s life for them!
To: kronos77
And THAT, folks, is how you deal with pirates.

It's particularly hard to row with your hands tied behind your back. ...and already dead, heh heh.
A few here imagined on the day of the rescue that this would be their fate.

Thank you Russia for affirming national sovereignty over and above international law unlike this crap we have in Washington. You want that little puke going through the New York courts to take out to sea too? You are doing the job this administration will not even consider. Thanks again.

I like the Russkies style in this case! Word in Somalia will quickly get around that if you see that sickle “thingy” on a red flag.....leave that alone.

This is the way all pirates should be treated. See how the rest react.
Kudos to the Reds.

But the pirates were released on Friday and put in one of their own boats, without weapons or navigation equipment, 300 nautical miles off the coast of Somalia, after Russia said there were no international guidelines for prosecuting the men.
I guess there’s no international guidelines for releasing them either huh?

At first I was mad at the Reds for releasing the pirates, but their move was perfectly executed. Their total lack of abilities enabled them to hang themselves with their own rope. LOVE IT!
