I dont think it is the Pill, I think it is easy divorce. When people can leave a marriage in a New York Minute they dont think twice about trying to save it.I agree. There is a LOT more to what happened to marriage than the pill. The pill, in my opinion, gave marriages a chance to enjoy sex without having to worry about pregnancy till the parents were ready.

Ironic that the pill was invented by a Catholic.

The pill is only one part of a very complex web of events that are leading to the destruction of the family.
Others mentioned several good examples that assist in the decline of the family.
Social services (welfare), multiple-partner relationships, homosexual marriage are a few others.
Our easy lifestyle with massive amounts of recreational time is another factor.

The pill and welfare.
Welfare removed all morale components from economic assistance. No longer was assistance dependent on decent behavior.
Now it’s a self perpetuating problem. Born in a rut, it’s hard to get out (not slamming those born in a rut since, by the grace of God, I was able to get out).
Here’s a quote I found concerning the self-perpetuation and inability to climb out of the rut.
With a 50 percent high school dropout rate and a 70 percent illegitimacy rate, with African-Americans committing half the nations murders though only 13 percent of the population, black Americaespecially the poorer part of itis in trouble.

Once men can have all the sex they want with no risk of pregnancy, then females will quickly go back to their old ways of guarding the goods and making you barter, and negotiate, and work for it. That is absolutely wrong. Sex was designed by God for reproduction. In an economy where is is practically impossible to reproduce, men and woman will either frantically mate with as many people as often as possible or give up completely. The desire to have children is at our core. That desire is suppressed at unbearable cost.

Some other things the pill has ruined:
- It has ruined our cultures.
- It has ruined our minds.
- It has ruined our homes.
- It has ruined our affections.
- It has ruined our children that survive.
- It has ruined our churches.
- It has ruined our schools.
- It has ruined our creativity.
- It has ruined our economy.
- It has ruined our defense.
- It has ruined our health.
- It has ruined our sex drives.
- It has ruined our intentional fertility
- It has ruined our personalities.
- It has ruined our morale.
- It has ruined our water.
- It has ruined our environment.
- It has ruined our spirits.
- It has ruined our future.
Who knows by how many magnitudes more people have been murdered by abortifacient birth control than by surgical abortion? Surgical abortion is just the tiny tip of the enormous iceberg. The pill is insecticide against people in a world that is increasingly and grotesquely misanthropic. It is a brutal chemical attack against Creation and Creation's Holy God. It is the seed of our self destruction. It should have been called the suicide pill.

The pill caused my wife to be forced to have a total hysterectomy before we had any children. There was a long period of time during which we agreed the pill was our malignant enemy.
However, all that led to a miraculous series of events ten years following that resulted in our adoption of a newborn (we were both in the delivery room when she was born) who has grown into the most amazing adult we could ever hope to know.
She was graduated from university this past Saturday magna cum laude and with other honors, and our pride knows no bounds.
All things work together for good to those who know God and are called according to his purpose.
(To be clear, though, I agree with your list.)

They’ve been trying to develop a pill for men for 40 years now. One of the biggest problems is men would never put up with the level of side effects that women do with their pill.

I believe all that began in the Garden when God pronounced judgment on the Serpent, the man and the woman.
God told the women that because of her sin, “I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children; and thy desire [shall be] to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee.” (Genesis 3:16)
Ever since then, the devil has been trying to prove God is not able to carry out his judgment. If women can avoid childbirth and the pain of childbirth, then he figures he has succeeded.
You can also see in that the beginning of lesbianism and feminism as ways to void the second and third parts of God’ judgment.

She and her guy have pledged celibacy until marriage. We haven’t mentioned grandchildren yet. There is a time for that and this isn’t it.
BTW, we homeschooled her all the way through high school.
