Seriously, is there any hope for us at this point?
Just watched a little 6 year old that has been chagrined and punished with a weeklong detention by her grammar school because a friend gave her a green Jolly Rancher hard candy in the lunchroom, and a teacher caught her with it.
So let me get this straight. Nowadays, we are forced to expose our elementary graders to "Heather's Two Mommies", how to practce safe sex, the joys of pro-choice in eliminating pesky unwanted human life-- but heaven forbid they act as CHILDREN and break the all sacred GOVERNMENT nutrition law of having a piece of hard candy??
The look on the little girl's face..when Alison Camerata primly said: "Now school is about learning...What have you learned from this experience?" As if to impy this is the most outrageous infraction...a SHAMEFUL ACT.
The little girl with eyes downcast, quietly and dutifully answered "To never have candy in school".
Oh yes..an immortal sin! Hopefully the child can be redeemed through efficient action by the STATE.
Yes, the tender forming mind is being imprinted early on by the new rules of the BORG, raining down imperial judgement on this child, courtesy of the socialist/communst educational machine!
But let's rally round when she shows up for her gender reassignment post adolescence, courtesy of a complete fracturing of her innate identity by statist propaganda.
Yes, there is hope, a growing, burgeoning hope of tomorrow....the hope lies in home educated children, our leaders of tomorrow.
We have fools in our education system. These people have to be really proud of themselves.
This would be the last day my daughter ever set foot in a Public School.
What struck me was the mother’s desire to have clearer instruction.
When I was in school my mother wouldn’t have sent me to school with candy but if we had it we weren’t allowed to eat it in class and that was pretty much it.
Where did this happen?
Compare this to the 3 day suspension of the kid that fought tooth and nail with me and a principal last week. The 10 year old kid kicked and punched and called us everything but a child of God. When he returns on Monday, he will receive counseling and a mentor teacher that he can go to whenever he is angry at his homeroom teacher.
Well, they just interviewed the mother and her daughter this AM, so I assume in the last week or so.
That was then, this is now. The education establishment has convinced itself that Jolly Ranchers are terrorist weapons of mass destruction.
In my classroom I always have Hershey's candy Kisses or Starbursts for my students. They get them at times when they are working hard, or doing acts of kindness. (Kind of the Father Flanigan approach.)
That stupid rule in our school would have been thrown out the window, as would the idiots who came up with such a travesty of common sense.
The only hope is if we conservatives infiltrate the education system and take it back.
Thank God that some media outlet is willing to publicize events like this....maybe the public scorn will get so intense that no school official will be able to show such a lack of common sense.
Shouldn’t that put warnings on those candies to prevent this kind of thing from happening?
Yes.. Also.. Americas teachers are brain washing your kid that America is a democracy too.. When democracy and democratic are two words NOT found anywhere in the U.S. Constitution.. ALL Democracy's are now and always have been Mob Rule.. by mobsters.. No democracy ever invented was ever democratic.. they are always an Oligarchy..
The Teachers Unions and most of the teachers and professors have also been brain washed.. others are malevolent.. Democracy always results in Socialism which is the direct virulent enemy of Capitalism.. by sedition and espionage.. Democracy is the political disease with socialism as a symptom..
Democracy is a very nasty word.
It should be spat out if ever you have the desire to speak it..

No, it didn't happen in San Francisco, Berkeley, West Hollywood, or Provincetown. This incident occurred at Brazos Elementary School in Orchard, Texas.
Incidentally, Orchard is in Fort Bend County, which has been running ads on our local TV stations trying to convince Californians to move there.
The only thing keeping my kids in the public school is the fact that even though my property taxes pay for the band instructors and all the extracurricular stuff, the school district won’t allow me to get what I paid for unless I also subject my kids to their indoctrination.
We’ve got 4 kids and my husband and I both play multiple instruments, but we can’t make a full symphonic band out of just us.
My son was chewed out in front of the whole class to the point of tears because he muttered under his breath, “Al Gore is an idiot” when the language arts class was forced to watch “An Inconvenient Truth”. (Never mind the f-words that the other kids regularly use and get a “Now now.”)
For his persuasive essay he chose to discuss the global warming hoax. When the language arts teacher asked him what he was writing on he said he was going to show that global warming is a hoax. The teacher said he was delusional.
I believe this is the same teacher he dealt with before on “celebrating diversity”. It was a tough time because Obama’s illegal inauguration was being shoved onto all the kids in school (this was after my kids had been sent to the back of the bus because they were known to be Republican, and the other kids shouted, “Kill McCain”).
There was a wall display taking up the entire 6th-grade wing of the school, saying “Celebrate Diversity” and including photos of people who had only one thing in common: they were neither white nor Asian. Two of the people my kids were being told to “celebrate” were Malcolm X and Fidel Castro.
So I had a talk with my kids about what it really means to “celebrate diversity” and that we judge the things that really matter - the right and wrong - without getting distracted by things that don’t matter, like race. I said that we truly celebrate diversity when we value every human life for its uniqueness and what it has to offer the world. I explained that Scripture talks about the different parts of the body having different functions but we need them all. He was cool with that.
So then when the language arts teacher was talking about the importance of “celebrating diversity” he raised his hand to make the point that celebrating diversity really means celebrating all human life and what it has to offer. This teacher said, “No it doesn’t. It’s really about race. But we don’t have time to talk about this.” And then she went on. She lost him right then and there.
When his Spanish teacher used a communist activist’s “free educational curriculum” to have the class make posters celebrating Latino achievers, my son was given a list of Latino politicians he could choose to “celebrate”. He couldn’t find one person on there who wasn’t democrat and he couldn’t find one person who wasn’t already found guilty of multiple crimes.
He asked me what he should do. I said he should make a poster saying exactly what this person’s “achievements” were. The teacher had no idea that the resource she was using was a communist group. When she saw the poster she said, “It sounds like he was very successful at being a crook.”
Now our local paper had an article that was basically an advertisement saying to any illegal immigrants displaced from Arizona, “Hey, come here! We won’t ask any questions. We’ll treat you like royalty and give you everything you need. And just about everybody teaching and administrating in our school system is a pro-immigration-reform activist affiliated with Soros-funded Appleseed”.
My kids hate school and I hate them being in this school. I spend incredible amounts of time un-teaching what the school tries to cram down them and teaching the academic content that the school tests them on but never teaches.
My kids’ grades would be straight-A’s except they are given projects where they are paired up with the flunkies who won’t do their portion of the work so my kids get the worst grades ever on those assignments which drags down their grades. But it makes it appear that the flunkies raised their grade so it helps with the “No Child Left Behind” concept.
My kids have come to hate communism because they see what happens when you have communal grades: it punishes the people who do the work and raises the belligerent ones who will never do a thing to earn a grade.
My kids are getting a real education on what the world they live in is like.
Schools are getting sillier and sillier with all their infractions- so many rules no one could follow them. Brainwashing our children that every other country is better than ours and competetion is bad. Raising good little socialists is what they are doing.
Hmm, the name Jolly Rancher does sound a bit light in the cowboy boots. Maybe this was just discrimination against GAY candy. Maybe the little girl was just expressing her support for gay people through the medium of candy. The little girl should sue.

Personally, I wouldn’t let an extra curricular activity be my decision to dump my kids into the pit you describe. My kids get the exact same lessons you describe without having to live it.
I’m gonna have to take a different stance here. Seems like I’m hearing from you that it’s OK to break some rules? I think this incident has taken a step in the RIGHT direction in teaching the child it’s NOT ok to break rules. They are there for a reason, even if only to maintain discipline in the classroom.
I’ll probably be roasted alive for taking a more CONSERVATIVE approach to this, but let me ask you a question. Where do we stop after this? Is it OK to RUN A RED LIGHT if no one is coming? Do we teach our children it’s ok to not put on a seatbelt because there are no cops around? If you see an old woman drop a $20.00 out of her purse, is it ok to just put it in your pocket instead of giving it back to her?
Seems to me, I’m hearing a lot more LIBERAL ATTITUDES that we can and should be selective about which laws we follow and which laws we can OUTRIGHT DISOBEY.
If the worse this child has to do is stay after school a few nights for disobeying a rule, so be it. I hope later in her life, she also chooses to follow small, insignificant rules like not running that stop sign or driving drunk and kill someones family.
