and instead represented a set of values and principles that candidates could pick and choose from.

There’s your problem! When your State and National Constitutions are things you can pick and choose from.

I’m not understand what you are saying. Scary in a good way, or a bad way?

I don’t see where it says you can “pick and choose” from the respective Constitutions, but that the candidates and members must - rather than supporting UNCONSTITUTIONAL Bills as they (especially Snowe) have in the past - consider all of their actions as it relates to the respective Constitutions.

At least that’s what I got from the article (admitted I didn’t go read the entire platform as written).
