Gore buys Montecito Villa for $8,875,000

In a move that critics may cite as his own inconvenient truth, former Vice President Al Gore and his wife, Tipper, have added a house in secluded Montecito to their real estate holdings.

The couple spent $8,875,000 on a gated ocean-view villa on 1 1/2 acres with a swimming pool, spa and fountains, according to real estate sources familiar with the deal. The Italian-style house has high ceilings with beams in the public rooms, a family room, a wine cellar, terraces, six fireplaces, five bedrooms and nine bathrooms in more than 6,500 square feet of living space.

Montecito has long been a haven for Southern California's rich and famous, a spot where celebrity faces can blend into the crowd. Among the community's notable residents have been talk show giant Oprah Winfrey, actors Michael Douglas and Christopher Lloyd, and golfer Fred Couples. The 93108 ZIP Code, which includes the coastal hamlet, was ranked as America's seventh most expensive area last year by Forbes.

Word of the purchase was reported in late April in the Montecito Journal. Gore, 62, did not respond to The Times' requests for comment.

Three years ago, Gore added solar panels and other energy-saving features to his 10,000-square-foot mansion in Belle Meade, Tenn., after he had been criticized for the amount of energy the home used.

After serving as vice president from 1993 to 2001 and playing spokesman on global warming in his 2006 Academy Award-winning film "An Inconvenient Truth," Gore is now chairman of Current TV. He also is the founder and chairman of the Alliance for Climate Protection and a founder of the Beverly Hills-based environmental organization Live Earth.

Perhaps the house I posted photos of wasn’t it after all. It’s very difficult to find conclusive info on this. I now see the person apparently responsible for posting the photos I linked to (which many other websites have used) isn’t actually certain it is the house. So maybe the picture in the link you provided is the correct one (?) ...the 2nd one that is, the 1st is Gore’s Tennessee mansion.

“Given the ocean-view, Gore really can’t be too concerned with rising sea levels. A little sleuthing led me to this delightful listing, which I believe is the new Gore residence as: (a) it recently dropped off the listing agent’s “for sale” site; and (b) it meets the fairly unique criteria specified by the Montecito Journal.”

In 1907 Vladimir Lenin dispatched Julius Hammer, a doctor, to the U.S. to establish a beachhead for funneling money back to the Russia. He founded the American Workers Party which was later changed to Communist Party USA. However, Julius was soon in prison for murdering a woman through a botched abortion and his son, Armand Hammer, took over.

Armand entertained lavishly and circulated among the Northeastern and Washington elite. He soon became very tight with the Sulzberger family, primary owners of the New York Times Publishing Company. In Washington one of his first conquest was Senator Al Gore Sr. of Tennessee.

Along the way Hammer established Occidental Petroleum. While VP, Al Gore Jr. was instrumental in allowing Hammer to buy the Elk Hills Naval Petroleum Reserve in California at a very cheap price. It was being held in reserve for our navy in the event of war. It is a very rich oil reserve. He also helped Occidental drill in South American “rain forest” and claim another very rich petroleum producing area and stiffed the local native indians who really owned the area. All of this while he and the Democrats were trying to stop all drilling everywhere and were especially loud about keeping “Big Oil” out of the Amazon Rain Forest.

Basically Al and his father have always been Communist agents operating in this country. For years Occidental has paid the Gores thousands of dollars a year for the right to mine zinc on their Tennessee farm. I don’t know if any zinc has ever been mined there. I am sure they paid them in other ways also since they always lived in the Ritz Carleton Hotel in Washington rather than on the farm. Now that Hammer is dead maybe Soros has taken over supporting the Gores.

When Al euphemistically buys “carbon offsets” for his energy guzzling properties he buys them from the company he founded for that purpose. In other words he buys them from himself. A simple bookkeeping function.

Wow - you sure jogged my memory. I recall reading about Senior and Al’s ties to Armand Hammer, but you’ve supplied a lot of detail. Communist crooks from the old days. Thank you!

Thanks for the very informative post about the machinations of Armand Hammer and Al Gore Sr.

What hardly anyone seems to recognize is that Marxism and capitalism shook hands somewhere back in the 1930's. The super rich agreed with Marx that it would be a good idea to control economic 'freedom' through the gov't, so as to safeguard their vaunted place on the social pyramid. In exchange, the commies got everything they wanted: control of the media and public education, money to fund front groups (think 'Acorn'), and the virtual de-stigmatizing of the label 'communist'. Today, you can't call someone a communist, no matter how open he is about it, without being accused of 'McCarthyism'.

Both the Marxist elites and the capitalist elites think one-world gov't is just wonderful, and inevitable. What do they call this rancid blend of Marxism/crony capitalism? A 'mixed economy'! Yeah, mixed up indeed.

Any politician involved with the Council on Foreign Relations is working toward this New World Order, based on the third-rail economics of Lenin and Roosevelt.
Q: How many US Presidents have been members of the CFR?
A: Every single one since Ronald Reagan (who was our last President NOT a member of the CFR).

Only nine bathrooms! How sad to live with this level of deprivation. I hope the US Census accurately tabulates this house so that those with no bathrooms can average this number to a more reasonable of one or even two.
