On Wednesday, a Mexican flag meant to celebrate Cinco de Mayo went missing from Klein Collins High School in Spring. Administrators later learned a student tore it down and threw it in the trash.
Then sophomore Nick Morris went on a local conservative talk radio show to complain he had been suspended.
Now, the boy's interview with KTRH host Michael Berry has gone viral and inflamed conservatives. Frazzled high school administrators are struggling to keep up with an onslaught of angry e-mails and phone calls complaining that the school is partial to Mexico.

There were pro-US protestors in front of the school on Friday.
Local talk radio has been all over this.
Hoisting the mexican rag was bad enough but putting it ABOVE the US flag was disgusting!!!!
Some administrators in KISD need to be fired.
Where does it say it was above Our Flag? I thought I read it somewhere also but not in this article.
Reported on another thread - I’ll try to find it. Either way, the mexicali rag should NEVER EVER be flown in America.
I agree totally, just wanted to follow this accurately got a Email about it but no info.
The kid “did good!”
This article was written so that the Chronical could say they reported on the incident, and at the same time avoid the pertinant facts of the incident.
If the real story is told, it make 80% of AMericans angry, and the Chronical wants to avoid letting Americans know the whole story.
I still think that celebrating a victory over the French is kind of a goofy idea. Especially if you were the home team. But hey! If it helps sell more beer, what the heck! Go for it.
Yeah, the flag was tacked up inside the school, on a kind of hallway overpass.
It wasn’t on a flagpole.
It still shouldn’t be there.
completely clueless (sorry for being redundant) school employees. Cannot think of a single good reason to put a foreign national flag in a promient place in a school, even for a single day’s beer celebration.
Do schools also fly Belgium flags to celebration some of their beer brands, or maybe German flags on Octoberfest, or Irish or Catholic flags on St Patrick’s day?
Hmmm, didn’t think so.
Obvious from the “response” by Klein that they cannot say that they did not prominently display the Mexican flag. Looks as if their lawyers gave them a statement that is meaningless.

The French were there because the Mexican Government had decided to welch on paying back the money France loaned them.
The Picture of a mexican flag above OUR flag was from last year.
This incident was about a mexican hanging his flag in the school hallway.
How any school official could think this is na good idea is mind boggling
Damn right, I’d expect my kids to do the same.
Thanks, thats what I needed.
March 27, 2006 at Montebello High School near Los Angeles to be exact. Perpetrated by students from nearby El Rancho High School.
Exactly. The Mexican deadbeats get into a scuffle with some French bill collectors. It didn’t work out for the French but it sure helped Corona’s cerveza sales after Americans decided to turn the scuffle into a holiday.
