Palin rightly interpreted the Declaration of Independence "inalienable rights" and Constitution
O'Reilly | Friday, May 7, 2010

Posted on 05/07/2010 7:40:03 AM PDT by Bigtigermike

Somebody had a Thread up last night saying that "Sara mentioned a couple of times that The Constitution talks about 'inalienable rights'. Conflating the Constitution with the DOI".......Well I listened to the tape and "NO" she didn't say that

She interprets it correctly.

Sarah Palin: ....Founding Fathers crafted the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution that allowed Judeo-Christian beliefs to be the foundation of our lives; And the Constitution of course, "Essentially" acknowledge that our unalienable rights don't come from man they come from God...."

Bill OReilly: "You are correct...that the Founding Fathers did base not only the Declaration of Independence but the Constitutional protections, on what they though was right and wrong which was based on the 10 commandments which came from Judeo-Christian philosophy "

I not here to bash anyone it's just we all be careful, because sometimes we hear things and at first it did sound like Sarah got confused with the DOI and the Constitution but listening carefully it was sound thinking from Sarah...

Well, maybe she’s listening.

If so, I hope she will extend her understanding of unalienable rights to its logical conclusions and decide that unborn children are persons too...and then drop her egregious unconstitutional Ron Paul/John McCain pro-choice for states position.

So how many politicians DO interpret it today? Painfully few.

Thanks for the clarification, mike. I didn’t see the live discussion, but did read the thread where she was misinterpreted. Your reinterpretation helps.

Good clarification, well worth posting. Funny how the even people that aren’t necessarily Palin haters sometimes somehow think she gets things wrong. I don’t think she gets many things wrong much at all.

PDS love to make big deals over minutia like this.

I did kind of cringe when Boehner once made this error, only he made it much more obviously. Looking at the actual sentence SP spoke--she wasn't saying "this appears in the Constitution", but says ""The Constitution was built on this." And she's right.

There's a good reason that the two are confused. It seems to me that the great error is tantamount to confusing a quote from Matthew's gospel to a quote from Luke.

So who's your pick in 2012 to do that?

ALERT!

The poster Eternal Vigilance often posts on the Palin threads. What most of us have not known is that he is Chairman of a competing political party, and as such, has a vested interest in seeing Sarah Palin diminished.

A discussion with him is not an ordinary back and forth seeking the truth, his bias is to see Palin losing and his guy gaining traction.

See for yourself at his home page: http://www.freerepublic.com/~eternalvigilance/index?U=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.freerepublic.com%2Ffocus%2Ff-news%2F2451169%2Fposts/

I don’t know. But he or she needs to be a personhood pro-lifer for starters.

And you have no “bias,” right? LOL...

That’s called my homepage. Anyone who wants can simply click on my screen name on every post I make to get there.

Why don’t you become as transparent as me? Put your name and your political associations and links to your entire political agenda on your homepage.

What are you afraid of?

Well according to your page, you'll be voting for someone in your party. Any hints who this could be ....
