I’m stating the obvious here, but millions of people have seen tough times without resorting to violence. And Faisal certainly isn’t the first person to have gone to being a person of means to someone in bad financial shape.
Saying this guy radicalized because of financial troubles is akin to saying the Walker family spy ring wouldn’t have sold secrets if the Navy had only paid John Walker a better salary. It’s not ultimately about dollars, it’s about what is in (or lacking in) the character and soul of the person.
If Faisal was willing to murder innocent people because he was having it tough, then he certainly could have been just as willing in other circumstances.
