Franklin Graham: Christians Will Lose the Power to Pray Outside Church Walls ‘Maybe in My Lifetime’

Two top evangelical leaders sounded a defiant tone on the eve of National Day of Prayer -- warning that the American right to freedom of religion “is being eroded every day” and may be lost in an onslaught of secularism unless Americans “have the guts to stand up.”

The Rev. Franklin Graham, who last month was officially “dis-invited” by the Army to speak at a National Day of Prayer ceremony at the Pentagon for statements he made about Islam, said he will not back down in preaching the Gospel as he sees it.

“We’re living in a time where we cannot compromise, we cannot back up, we cannot retreat,” Graham said Wednesday during a live Webcast from the Washington, D.C. offices of the Family Research Council.

“The Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ is to be preached to the ends of the Earth – that’s what He’s called us to do,” he said.

Graham, the honorary chairman of this year’s National Day of Prayer, made his comments in a sermon to an audience of leaders making final preparations for Thursday’s National Day of Prayer.

He alluded to Eastern Europe under communism, where Christians and others were allowed to pray only within their homes or inside the officially sanctioned churches that were allowed by the state.

This is an opportunity to stand and pray wherever and whenever.

Its sad that prayer has to become an act of political defiance but let them make “arrests” levy fines etc. before pray-ers are demonized.Let them go for their “judgements” from amoral judges.

Then pray for them to go pound sand.

If people think that religion is dangerous, they should wait and see how perilous a place can be where progressives bloom into their full potential.

IMHO

Don’t worry, folks. We’ll always have the right to publicly declare our love, devotion, loyalty and reverence for Our Dear Leader.

Then pray for them to go pound sand.

Until they change the constitution in this great land we WILL pray in PUBLIC. An amoral judges ruling does NOT supersede the constitution!

And yet too many are cowed, I fear.

Too willing to follow a law imposed by judicial fiat.

It is fast becoming time to re-examine our fierce devotion to the “rule of law” meme.

I despise the alternative, but massive civil refusal will have to happen before we lose every freedom we have.

Church groups need to stop nit picking and following goof balls. We need to work together to defeat islamanazis and controllers!

Unless the authorities are reading people’s brain waves, everybody will able to continue to pray to any god they want whenever they wish.

“But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.” - Matthew 6:6

I don't see any other way around it! I think we're really going to see what the WILL of the people will be in November.

Likely that if Christians lose the right to pray outside their churches, the call of the muezzin will still be openly broadcast by at mosques throughout the US.

He is wrong - we will never lose the power to pray anywhere. We may lose the opportunity to do it without suffering some consequences but no-one can ever stop us from praying.

There is an increasing attack on the New Testament. A simple web search reveals who and why (in their minds) the New Testament is “filled with hate.” The non-believers see the New Testament, not as a scripture filled with love, but a how-to manual on hate and actually connect Hitler and the New Testament. It’s beyond me.

We can now look to the muslims and see what happens when people of unchristian faith run things. The country slips back to the pre-civilized ages, women and children are abused, killing is looked at with honor. Had it not been for our need of petroleum, saudi arabia, iraq, iran would look silimar to Afghanistan.
