Unfortunately, your probably right. Although the Russians have less restraint in dealing with terrorists, they also don’t seem to have very good outcomes where the friendlies are concerned. The Moscow theater and Beslan school operations come to mind.
These pirates are going to be surprised that the Russians will shoot them - even if a hostage is in the way.

I don’t think Putin will want to mess up the new Russian Somali beachfront resort real estate with crude oil. He may see this as an opportunity to flex his military muscles, clean out that rat’s nest and create a new Russian tourist destination...:o)
He would make it clear that taking action would be a game changer and make no mistake, he would make it clear that the previous administration should be held accountable for it and he would bring us back from the brink of disaster and restore our reputation by getting along.
