Video surfaces of SWAT team shooting pet dog during raid
The Daily Caller ^ | 05/05/10 | Mike Riggs

The video of a Columbia, Mo., SWAT team shooting and killing a dog during a drug raid is now available online, due in part to the efforts of the Columbia Daily Tribune.

The video shows members of the Columbia Police Department executing a narcotics raid on the home of Jonathan Whitworth. While the raid, which occurred in February, only turned up a misdemeanor amount of marijuana and a glass pipe, the Columbia PD was able to charge Whitworth with second-degree child endangerment because a child lives in the home. That same child, age 7, was present when the Columbia PD conducted its raid and witnessed the police shoot both family pets — a pitbull, which was killed, and a corgi, which was shot in the leg — after they had safely entered the home.

“Did you shoot my f***ing dog?” Whitworth asks in the video. ”Oh my God, what the fuck did you do that for?”

Daily Tribune reporter Brennan David submitted a public information request for the video immediately after the charges were filed in February and was denied because the video was being used in criminal proceedings. “I knew that SWAT video was available and that SWAT teams use video. The deputy chief told me that he had watched it a few times,” David said.

Nobody is defending this guy. You are being intellectually dishonest. If you can’t see the difference between disapproval of Police State SWAT tactics for every little dope case, and the approval and defense of this man, you are too stupid to wear the badge.

If you are knowingly being intellectually dishonest, you lack the character for the job. It is not a surprise, the latest generation of Police have been indoctrinated into their own paradigm of evil. Most are too stupid to realize it. I come from a multi-generational family of coppers, we know what is happening, despite all your intellectually dishonest rhetoric to the contrary.

You are pretty stupid for thinking I am a cop.

Yep, you keep living up to the same old low expectations. Poor witless chucklehead, propping yourself up while simultaneously cementing your status as a low grade moron.

Sucks to be you. What a transparently dull twit you are. Keep it coming, chucklehead, take your status as a low grade moron to a whole new level.

...for all practical purposes...

Except for those nifty little DEA drugs raids...

Are you being deliberately obtuse?

"Are you being deliberately obtuse? "

Really, the DEA is raiding users? Um, I'm going to have to call BS on that.

The DEA has limited their interdiction efforts, which have recently ended, to distributors and retail sales establishments, not users.

As I said, so long as you have a prescription and a receipt from a licensed dispensary, you're legit. That's legal for all practical purposes even in Rio Linda.

Even Amsterdam, which has wildly liberal drug laws place regulations on drug seller, and even users. That's never going to change.

You have quite a vocabulary. You must get a lot of practice using those terms. I am glad I am not in your circle. It must really suck.

Decriminalize it and the price would drop out the bottom.

Just like cigarettes and liquor ...

Don’t you worry your little heart. Only straight shooters in my circle. You would quickly be ignored or have your ass kicked as soon as it was realized you were incapable something so simple as honest dialog. The games you play are simple minded, transparent, and unacceptable. The fact that you have the gall to call anyone stupid demonstrates what a tragically distorted view you have of yourself.

Accusing people of supporting the perp in this video because they don’t support the militarized raid is a childish display of dishonesty that you may or may not be intelligent enough to realize. If not, yea, it definitely sucks.

I believe you had the gall to call me stupid first which demonstrates what a tragically distorted view you have of yourself. I believe you also called me a cop. You lose on both counts.

When the story is made that he is a family guy and casual drug user it appears to me that they are supporting the guy. When they get hyper over me bringing out the dudes violent criminal past it appears to me that they are supporting this guy.

Sure you can. Nobody does it because even with taxation the stuff is still around $5 an ounce.

Now if tobacco were made illegal, there would be people willing to come up with varieties that would yield more in a small enclosed indoor space. There is no great incentive to do so now since there are millions of acres of the stuff growing legally in the US alone.

Pot is not legal in California. That is why it is still $200 or whatever an ounce. If pot were truly legal in California there would be massive greenhouses growing the stuff. If you tried that now in California, the Feds would be on your ass, even with Obama claiming that he won’t interfere.

Coors has a huge massive plant close to my house, because it is legal for them to have that factory. Imagine what Coors would cost (honestly it should be illegal on its taste alone) if it were reduced to being brewed by a bunch of little rinky dink places that didn’t have the proper equipment to produce it in mass.

In the Netherlands production is still illegal, especially large scale production. The same as California.

You can’t fairly compare the price of any product when the large scale production of one is banned.

In California for instance, there are some nice almond orchards near Vacaville that I used to pass by with hundreds of acres of almond trees. I could give you rough directions to a few of these places. I can’t name one pot “orchard” (for the lack of a better word) in California. For any other legal product I can give you the factory or farm, but not for pot.

Both are cheap. You can get a massive bottle of vodka for $10 or so that gives you around 40 1.5 ounce shots.

Tobacco is around $5 an ounce. Pot is around $300 an ounce.

Glad to see Joe still hosting my "hand signals". Unfortuately, still relevant even though I made it back in the late 90s.
