IBD/TIPP Poll: 60% Favor New Arizona Immigration Law
Investor's Business Daily ^ | 5/4/2010 | Sean Higgins

Posted on 05/05/2010 8:23:31 AM PDT by Slyscribe

Editorial pages may rage against the Arizona immigration law, but a solid majority of Americans support it, an IBD/TIPP poll found.

Sixty percent back the law, with 40% strongly favoring it, according to preliminary results. Meanwhile, 30% oppose it, with 20% strongly disapproving it. The remaining 10% are unsure.

The responses show a public increasingly frustrated with the response by local, state and federal authorities and welcoming solutions — like Arizona's law — that would have been politically untenable a few years ago.

What was that funny story I heard from the Establishment media yesterday?

Oh yeah, according to them the AZ Immigration law was going to fire up the Democrats and cause the GOP to lose big in 2010.

And how many of the 40% who don’t support the legislation are (as usual), unquestionably swallowing the propaganda from the Communist QueerMedia.

The libs endless accusations of racism have been so over used that it’s no longer making an impact and people are just evaluating issues on the merits and ignoring the leftist hate speech.

Another great example of the disconnect between the chattering classes and the American people.

The one thing they have that the majority of Americans don't is a HUGE mouth.

I’d be interested in a poll of Hispanic Americans (citizens/legals) on this subject.

Will they take the patriotic side, or the “Hispanic-at-all-cost” side?

“the AZ Immigration law was going to fire up the Democrats and cause the GOP to lose big in 2010.”

Same claim was made about Obamacare, with public opinion running about the same level (i.e., 60% or more oppose the president and Dem leadership in Congress). More proof (as if more is needed) of how badly out of touch MSM is with American public opinion.

Yep, their constant racism rantings are almost becoming white noise.

A lot of Hispanics, whether legal immigrants or true-blue-born-right-here-in-the-USA-from-a-family-that-was-here-before-us-Anglos, don't particular care for illegals either. Illegals drag down their wages and bring crime to their neighbourhoods too.

“Will they take the patriotic side, or the “Hispanic-at-all-cost” side?”

####

The perceived need to pander to Hispanics by allowing and supporting illegal entry (improperly termed illegal “immigration”), on the part of Republicans (see the Bushes), speaks loudly to the fact that they believe it is the latter.

Here you go.

Minority Advocates, Constituents Differ on Immigration - Zogby poll

[snip]While it is sometimes assumed that minorities, particularly Hispanics, favor increased immigration and legalization for illegal immigrants, a new Zogby survey finds that minority voters’ views are more complex. The poll of Hispanic, Asian-American, and African-American likely voters finds some support for legalization. But overall each of these groups prefers enforcement and for illegal immigrants to return home.

Hispanics: Just 20 percent said illegal immigration was caused by not letting in enough legal immigrants; 61 percent said inadequate enforcement.

* Hispanics: 52 percent support enforcement to encourage illegals to go home; 34 percent support conditional legalization. *

Since lefties have convinced themselves that we live in a democracy, and everything should be voted on, AZ has a provision in its Constitution for referendums, like CA.
Let the people vote on it. Liberte, Egalitee, Fraternitee!

Remember this is the support even though most don’t know how bad the situation with illegal immigration and related crime is because the media has been in the tank for open borders and amnesty for years. Can you just imagine the outrage if more citizens knew the truth? We really need to keep getting the truth out there.

You only have to have so many military style incursions, so many police officers killed, so many home invasions, so many rapes and murders and eventually the people get mad.

Except for idiots like "Los Suns" or should that be "Los Losers"

I would love to see what the approval rating would be if people actually read and understood the new law.
