Young People Deserting Obama

I'm always entertained when older folks try to reach out to people my age. It's hardly ever a pretty sight and most of the time these attempts end up being hilarious. I found myself chuckling at Barack Obama's most recent effort to beg young voters to come out to the polls this November.
No one is buying it anymore, especially young people.
Even the most liberal of my generation are frustrated with the President... The radical environmentalists on college campuses across the country were furious when Obama opened up the coasts for limited drilling.
Young Americans are realizing they did not get the politician they bargained for.
Better yet, some of us are realizing that the Obama presidency is punishing our future. Down the road, we will be the ones forced to pay off the record-breaking deficits and debt that Obama's budgets and trillion-dollar spending programs are leaving us.
There is little doubt that Obama will have a hard time reconnecting with the new voters he had in 2008. While he may get the koolaid-drinkers, it appears most everyone else is dissatified with him and his policies.

How does the author know that young people are disappointed in Mr. Obama?Well, the author probably has a TWITTER account and a FACEBOOK page.
That is the new 'source' for most reporters.

Why?My opinion is that they are being (or are being promised) major 'compensation' for their loss, funded by 'stimulus' or TARP funds, if they don't ask too many questions, and avoid reporters.

They should make it so that ownership of a home is a requirement to vote. Like Obama says, they have no skin in the game.
I always think that before one can vote, they need to pass a test that consists of basic English, math, reading comprehension and U.S. history and the Constitution. Also, if able bodied, one CANNOT be on welfare of any kind, i.e., not working and living off society which is us. You have to be out there pulling the wagon or at least not being a burden on society financially. If you're an auto mechanic, a waitress, a plumber, banker or even a playboy living off your parent's/family's fortune, you will be able to vote, if you pass the test. If you go on welfare and able bodied, you lose the right, but if you get off of it and get back to work, you will get it back after 6 months, provided you passed the test.
Exceptions, if you are retired and collecting social security or if you are disabled for a bonafide reason and on welfare for survival. However, this does not exempt you from the test If you are handicapped in any way, assistance will be provided to you for your test to compensate for your handicap, but, again, you have to pass.

Doesn’t take much to read between the lines here. If Obabam were radical enough to suit a larger portion of his target demographic then the fine young cannibals would be hunky-dory for the O.

~But Obama is cool!~
The kids are about to find the "cool" doesn't feed the bulldog. There will come a day when Obama gets slapped around the international school yard. In that case, "Cool" won't be such a hot property.

To: thecodont
They covered it back in the day by being a property owner. Race be damned. If you could understand transfer of ownership and liability your qualified.

Priorities. Young people (and others) think gadgets like that are important while their future and liberty are being stolen from them.
People think TV is important but it is now almost totally a propaganda arm for teh Democrats.

I'll believe it when I see it with the 20 somethings. Maybe those 18-22 will get it in 2012 and lean from those then 18-24 year olds before them in 2008, with the Iraq vets exception.
I think this group, especially the white folks, are too weak and too soft. Whose fault is that? Ours as society.
