Surprise! Times Square Bomb Suspect a Muslim (Did you honestly suspect any other profile?)

The American left must be disappointed this morning to learn that the suspect in the failed Times Square bombing is not the longed-for "Caucasian male" right wing extremist. Faisal Shahzad, a naturalized American citizen of Pakistani origin, most likely has never attended a tea party, and so far as we know is not on record opposing ObamaCare.

Mr. Shahzad did, however, recently spend some months in his native Pakistan. A thirty year-old, he reportedly owns homes in Shelton and Bridgeport, Connecticut, largely working class communities in the wealthiest state in the union. A man of property, able to travel the world - he and two others were pulled off an Emirates Airlines plane bound for Dubai last night at JFK airport.

Obviously, as a citizen, Shahzad will receive his full due process rights. How did this man gain citizenship? Given the volume of immigration from Muslim-majority nations, perhaps it is time to revisit these regulations, with a view to the very real threat from those who are orthodox Muslims living out their obligation to wage jihad against the infidels.

And how he obtained permission to travel there at a time the State dept considered Pakistan totally off limits is another story.

The same way people travel to Cuba now - they buy a ticket and get on a plane. Pakistan had no restrictions on travel by Americans, just as Cuba does not now.

If the State Department feels like it, they can exact a fine when the traveller re-enters America. I checked the numbers on that for a sister a couple of years ago - State mostly doesn't bother. I think it was about $100. I think the fact of the Pakistan trip is a non-story. The reason for the Pakistan trip might be interesting.

Because most terrorists arrested in America are Muslim, it is religious discrimination if we actually enforce our anti-terrorism laws.

Boycott NYC if they do anything to suggest that anti-terrorism laws should actually be enforced. We are too noble to do anything so discriminatory as to distinguish between the innocent and the guilty.

On immigration application forms, there were questions if the applicant had ever belonged to the Nazi or Communist parties, or advocates the violent overthrow of the US Government. If these questions are not there, they need to be included immediately and used to take away the US citizenship of Muslims, like this Faisal Shazad creep, who commit violent acts. I would also include the belief in or advocacy of Sharia Law, since that is incompatible with the US Constitution and by definition supporting of the violent overthrow of the US Government.

The key is to use these provisions to toss out Muslims, who do not support the US Constitution. Use it.
