LONDON, England- There has been a car bomb scare outside Algate train station in London, people at the scene say.
Journalist Sarah Modlock said the bomb scare may have been aimed at the Royal Bank of Scotland in London City, but this could not be confirmed as yet.
Using real time social network Twitter, Sarah Modlock said: Bomb disposal guys and dogs everywhere in Aldgate fireman enlarging corden.
Thousands of people appear to have been evacuated from the scene as the situation unfolded. Office workers in the busy London financial district were told to stay indoors.
Another witness near the tube station said on Twitter: (Its) like a movie scene here. Never seen so many police before! Road blocks, police tape, sirens, people.
Several witness reports said the small hatch car parked just outside Algate appeared to be full of rucksacks. The BBC said a woman and a girl had been put into a police van.
Nothing about this in the UK...
Ping.

Interesting - RBS. Wonder if Bank of America was the actual Times Square target.

The purpose of jihad is not to kill for the sake of killing.
The purpose of jihad is to intimidate into submission.
If people are intimidated into submission without killing, then the purpose of jihad was still accomplished.
Good grief. TWO IEDs? And they're not going to mention it on the news?
I realize that nobody wants to set off a panic, but how can people be vigilant if they are never told there's any reason for concern? Keeping people in the dark about things like this sets them up to be victims.
Consensus building that this was a non-event. My realistic side would like to agree, but it seems that TPTB are really good at denying the obfuscating the truth (read Times Square).
I wish it wasn’t that way, and I hope it is much ado about nothing, but the fact is, these people ARE in motion and if they’re planning a wave of low-level attacks (maybe in frustration of the failed Christmas shoe bombing), then I’d rather err on the side of caution.
