Chicago - Scott Lee Cohen announced Monday that he plans to run for governor as an independent.
He said he was running because he was "tired of waste and mismanagement."
Cohen was pressured to drop out of the race for lieutenant governor after embarassing details surfaced about his personal life, including allegations of abuse from his wife and ex-girlfriend and overdue child support.
"I am not perfect, but I am honest," Cohen said. "And Illinois needs more honesty than perfection."
A spokesman for House Speaker Michael Madigan says Cohen notified party leaders of his plans to run for governor in April.
Cohen will need to submit 25,000 signatures from registered voters on petitions by June 21 to get on the ballot.
Who is to say Scott Lee Cohen is unfit to occupy the seat previously held by Geo. Ryan (D-Federal Prison) or Rod Blago (Idiot-IL)?
Go Scott Go! Make Pat Quinn and the corrupt IL Democrat party regret not welcoming you with open arms as the duly elected Lt. Gov. candidate.
Hope they eat each other up!!
Maybe Joe Walsh from the IL 8th can be his Lt. Gov. They deserve each other.
What a fool!
Maybe Joe Walsh from the IL 8th can be his Lt. Gov. They deserve each other.
The Smoker You Drink, The Player You Get
...sorry, couldn’t resist ;-)
LOL.
“Vote for me, Ladies, or I’ll slug you.”
*IL Politics Ping*
Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha....... (gasp) ........ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And we already have Green Rich Whitney on the ballot to take votes from Quinn (he took from both sides last time but I don’t expect that to happen again).
I wish Cohen luck in getting on the ballot, I’m sure they’ll try hard to keep him off.
I hope he chooses a well known black democrat to be his running mate.
