Dale McAlpine was charged with causing “harassment, alarm or distress” after a homosexual police community support officer (PCSO) overheard him reciting a number of “sins” referred to in the Bible, including blasphemy, drunkenness and same sex relationships.
Police officers are alleging that he made the remark in a voice loud enough to be overheard by others and have charged him with using abusive or insulting language, contrary to the Public Order Act.
Christian campaigners have expressed alarm that the Public Order Act, introduced in 1986 to tackle violent rioters and football hooligans, is being used to curb religious free speech.

What? Looks like the Obama dictatorship is already starting. I cannot believe this. This is absolutely insane. All he was doing was speaking the truth and using his right of free speech. This is unbelievable.

What the Hell is a police community support officer? Secret police? What happened to free speech? The British sure wasted a lot of blood fighting the Nazis, if now they’ve got their own Gestapo.

Makes you wonder why the Brits gave up their empire fighting off the nazis just so they could become a totalitarian society 60 years later.
People seem to think Britain is over run with Muslims. They are a large part of London's population but, as I understand some missionaries I've talked to, outside of London is more labor/conservative.

A nation deserves the government it elects, and those British morons love their welfare-state socialism. So they also deserve everything that comes with it. Same goes for America. Let’s see if Americans correct their colossal mistake in November.

Not astonishing at all. To paraphrase Stephen A. Douglas, it is the logical, inevitable outcome of the race to socialism. And people in the USA will eventually take this view too. Lenin would have been surprised at the pace of his ideas catching hold on gullible people.
