Because the Denver schools have taken this action, standing against Arizona, then perhaps Freepers can vote against the Denver School of Science and Technology for the Obama White House "Race to the Top" Commencement Challenge. That way Colorado will not be the recipient of a high school graduation commencement visit by Obama.

Arizona was brilliant. Even if they never do anything different than they did a year ago (to avoid law suits), the illegal immigrants will NOT be flooding their state anymore. They're going to head for Texas. If Texas passes the same bill and does nothing as well, the illegals will head for California. California, the state of illegal compassion, will have to deal with the additional costs, health care, education, crime, etc. - and right now they're broke!!!

The liberals aren't angry about the actual illegal immigration law in Arizona. They just know the crime and mayhem will be heading to THEIR state now, because the aliens have no other place to go.

There are reports that several people around Monett, Missouri are very nervous about Arizona's new law.

It is 1,018 miles to the Northeastern corner of Arizona from Monett.

1,018 miles, now that is what I would call a far reaching state law !

LOL, wait until Colorado is inundated with the illegals leaving Arizona. Wait until their schools groan under the strain of hundreds of thousands of new kids....most of whom don’t speak english.

"DPS spokesman Kristy Armstrong says school employees are in the country legally..."

And how would you know that they are here legally if you are against asking them?

What business do Denver Public School officials have spending taxpayer money to travel to Arizona anyway? Sort of like the San Francisco ban. If I were a taxpayer in Denver or San Francisco, I would be ticked that these folks are taking essentially vacations where they spend two hours in meetings and the rest of the time playing golf on my dime.

Too bad they aren’t teaching them some US history instead!

Mayer Hekenloafer hired an cop killer illegal and now the schools are against obeying the laws. No wonder Colorado is in trouble. Gov. Rittler ran a catch and release system where 98% of illegals went free.

This is an election year.

Make it vocal that this will force us to note NO on any and every tax increase on the ballot.

Of course, we’d vote NO anyway, but still...

What possible reason would Denver School officials have to travel to Arizona?

They cannot run their own schools worth a crap, so stay out of Arizona’s problems.

Look at your own back steps, Colorado.

You have a big illegal intruder problem of your own.

Just watch what happens when Arizona gets her neck bent and gets pissed off by all these yahoos telling her what to do... Western folks are among the very most independent kind, and they are ALL about fed up with it.

and PS: Denver doesn’t count as Western (no offense to the true Coloradans out there).

Another State offering illegals of Arizona a place to squat! California and Colorado - safe for illegals.

Of course they are against Arizona’s common sense bill re illegals.

Besides being liberals, probably 10-20% of the teachers and their bosses would lose their job if illegal kids couldn’t come to school.

Denver School of Science and Technology (DSST) made the President’s cut, narrowing down the list of high schools to three that Obama will pick from for attending commencement exercises, including DSST. In light of the Denver Public School’s actions against the State of Arizona, I wish we would have voted on this to prevent DSST from making the cut.

Race to the Top High School Commencement Challenge

The results are in! Thanks to your help we’ve narrowed it down to the top three finalists in the Race to the Top Commencement Challenge. The race was neck and neck all the way to the end with all six schools within half a point of each other. In no particular order:

Clark Montessori Jr. & Sr. High School in Cincinnati, OH
Kalamazoo Central High School in Kalamazoo, MI
Denver School of Science and Technology in Denver, CO

Thank you to the more than 170,00 people who weighed in and rated the six finalist schools. All six final high schools exemplify dedication to academic excellence and preparing students to help meet the President’s 2020 goal of having the highest proportion of college graduates in the world.

President Obama will now choose which school to visit and deliver the commencement address at later this spring. Be sure to check back next Tuesday, May 4 to find out who wins!

Look at their protest signs; do you see who sponsored the signs? SEIU
