No doubt that law was written by union lawyers.
Unions and lawyers have their places but neither can be trusted with power.

Around here the best football player loads hay with his father and does ranch work They must be some stout S.O.B.s. Around here the bales are 2,000 to 3,000 pounds.

The guy across the street sent his teens over to help with our yardwork once. He said not to even worry about paying them because they owed him so much money.
So who did you pay or was it a freebie?

They are, around here, they don’t pick up those size bales, they just pick the barn up and set it down around them

It was a freebie! We did try to give him money, but he wouldn’t take it. He told us to use them any time we wanted, but we feel like that’s taking advantage. He’s such a hardworking guy himself I think it must really frustrate him that they refuse to work. One’s out of high school but not in college or employed, the other is a senior I think. Also not employed. They even have their mom’s hand-me-down car to drive.

Wish I could have a garden. . . Well, imagine my surprise to find every plum on my tree gone. I have two small gardens and both are full of veggies. Tomatoes are loaded already. I had to pull up the leaf lettuce but will plant something in that spot.
I have a pear tree in the front lawn. Lots of fruit on it this year again. It was loaded last year, until we had a bad hail storm. The year before that, we had been eating some and giving away bags of pears.
One evening I went to throw something into the trash and a racoon had climbed up the tree, knocked off ever remaining pear and the deer were under the tree eating away.

I have not seen that many squirrels since my neighbor hates them. I have seen loads of rabbits, though. Can they climb trees? lol. I think all the birds share in my plums and figs since I see spots on them where it looks like they were pecked. Love my birds though. I have a swing on my patio and one year my daughter and I were sitting in it. We kept seeing hummingbirds flitting about. One kept dive-bombing me. We finally decided the bird liked my red shirt. I would love to have a garden but with all of my allergies, it is just too hard to deal with them. I can just stick my head out the door and my poor head pays the price for it. Have tried all kinds of pills but nothing seems to work. I told a friend that I should start wearing a mask when I go outside. He thought it was a good idea.
Do you live in the country with all of the deer? A friend use to feed a raccoon which kept coming in her yard. Don't know what happened to it. So called progress is taking away all of the places they use to live.
Do owls eat fruit? I hear a bunch of them at night. One came down my chimney years ago. I called my neighbor and he came over. He was going to kill that beautiful white owl. I told him, no thanks, got a pillowcase and got it out that way. It was the first time I had seen one that close.

Get gravel and make it a parking lot. Put picnic tables up..have a party every evening..A burn pit to roast marshmallows..

Squirrels eat fruit for sure. I used to have a nice peach tree when we lived in Austin and the squirrels would take a few bites out of the fruit and then drop them for another ripe peach. Several of those left the property in my trash bin. Possums do eat fruit as well.
Actually, we live in a city, but the ordinances are strict about fences in front yards. Same with my back yard which is on a golf course. I had to have a 50% see through fence on that side, but now the deer stay out. We have already seen newborn fawns this spring.

The best thing that could happen is for us to give this work back over to our teenagers. It would be good for the country and would instill a work effort in our young. Great idea.

College and high school kids used to organize them into land scapers before the illegals came along. My brother made a lot of money every summer doing that.

Wow, you're right. There were even Japanese gardeners in the 60s when I was paying attention. I had forgotten them. I just remembered the neighborhood boys who would come to our house and ask my Mom if they mow our lawn. Then one day...along with the kids who used to bus tables...they were gone.
Creepy about the hat and kinda sad.
