Russia is preparing for the biggest Red Square military parade in modern history in a Soviet-style celebration marking the 65th anniversary of the USSR defeating Nazi Germany.

The grandiose Moscow event on May 9 will be replicated on a smaller scale in 71 cities across Russia who will hold their own military parades making it a nationwide event involving around 100,000 troops.
In Moscow, foreign soldiers, including a detachment of the 1st Battalion Welsh Guards and the Central Band of the Royal Air Force, will join their Russian counterparts on Moscow's most famous square for the first time.

Foreign dignitaries and heads of state will also be present.
Military commanders, who held a rehearsal on Tuesday, have said that the Moscow parade will involve 10,000 troops, 160 military vehicles and 127 aircraft making it the biggest such parade since the 1991 collapse of the Soviet Union.
Strategic nuclear bombers, MiG and Sukhoi fighter jets, and an array of military helicopters and gunships are expected to fly over Red Square on the day, while on the ground, T-90 battle tanks, intercontinental ballistic missile launchers, and numerous air defence and artillery pieces will trundle across the cobbles. own personal standard, into a sodden mess at Josef Stalin's feet beneath Lenin's tomb.

I heard there would be US troops there and there would be banners of Stalin.
Is that true?
I’m looking forward to seeing hot Russian chicks carrying vials of Polonium. Oh wait, wrong fantasy . . . .
Are they going to have ‘fake’ missiles in the parade as well.
And what is sooo cool is that American military personnel will be marching in the parade! We will be celebrating the Soviet victory over Nazi Germany!
I wonder why that hasn’t been made more of in the American press.

Maybe Barry can stand by the side of Stalin, er, I mean Putin, as the parade goes by, to give the Kremlinologists something interesting to analyze.
Odumbo will put in a video appearance to celebrate with Putin in the workers paradise.
The whole of Red Square is hollowed out underneath for a massive underground upscale shopping center. That’s why they don’t drive tanks across the pavement.
Too much weight and they’ll march into a hole.
He’ll probably fly announced overnight in the worn out AF1 and suddenly appear in Moscow before he has to fly to Mexico City for the Cinco de Mayo celebration and apology tour while doing a fly-over of Arizona looking for strategic targets to nuke them so he can blame Iran for George Bush’s ineptude. Then, back on the campaign trail - because he can. This probably isn’t too far from the truth. Arizona is his thorn in his side. He doesn’t know what to do other than Martial Law. That’s next.
please...
Allied military officers were present at the first Victory Day parade in Red Square in 1945, I believe. But on the reviewing stand, not in the parade itself (which, it must be admitted, was pretty impressive - check out the films on YouTube).
Hell probably fly announced overnight in the worn out AF1 and suddenly appear in Moscow before he has to fly to Mexico City for the Cinco de Mayo celebration...
Might be a bit tough, given that the parades are on the 9th of May and Cinco de Mayo is the 5th of May.
Detachments of Kazakh, Belarussian, and Ukrainian troops to participate in the parade too.

I’ll bet Putin is like a giddy school girl preparing this! He is trying to position them as the world superpower now that Odumbo is in charge of the US. While I’m happy for their help over the Nazis, what Stalin et al. did to the countries they oppressed afterwards was deplorable. They may be “celebrating” and old victory, but there is much more to the show than that...
