Scores of urns containing human ashes have been found dumped in a lake near the Swiss suicide clinic Dignitas. One estimate puts the number discovered 30ft down on the bed of Lake Zurich at 300 or more. The urns bear the logo of a cremation service thought to be used by Dignitas, the controversial organisation where more than 100 Britons have ended their lives. It is not known if the remains of any British 'suicide tourists' are involved, and last night Dignitas founder Ludwig Minelli refused to comment. It is against Swiss law to dispose of a large number of urns without a commercial licence. The crime carries a jail sentence of up to three years and a £30,000 fine. The urns were discovered by chance when divers from a rescue service were looking for a lost sunshade from one of their boats. After retrieving 13 urns they notified the Environment Agency and police divers were called in. One said: 'After 50 we stopped counting. They lay there in a big heap.' Environment Agency spokesman Wolfgang Bollack said: 'We have filed a criminal complaint against unknown persons for disturbance of the dead.

Deuteronomy 30:19 I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both you and your seed may live
Hindsight is 20/20...I hope liberals can now see how that they were played for fools. Dignitas promises dignity in death, but when the mask is ripped off, it's obvious it regards its customers as human garbage, to be disposed of illegally for a profit. The devil used his people to create this mockery of "human rights," now up from the bottom of the lake comes his punchline.
Wonderful metaphor for the Left — We care so much, that we are fully prepared to kill you and then dump you in lake. Those mean rightwingers would never treat you so good!
But notice that there is now a call for making assisted suicide legal in Britain so that “this won’t happen again to British citizens.” Hmm. I guess we can’t trust the Swiss but we can trust the British to dispose of the remains appropriately? And why did that conductor and his wife kill themselves? Anyone know?
Sad. I believe that God brings so many to Him in their last illness. These folks had sufficient resources to keep their pain and depression balanced as they took that last of life’s journeys. Both my parents went into their death joyfully. My father’s spirit stuck around another few years until my mother died and then they both went on, I believe, to glory.
Not quite as much dignity as advertised, then.
I care less what happens to my remains. What is important to me is what happens BEFORE I die. Unlike some around here, I don’t want government deciding what I can and cannot do.
It’s beyond me.
I consider suicide self murder and if you’re dead, you can’t repent of or ask forgiveness for it.
Personally, I don’t want to be trying to justify *that* to God, some day.
I've been swimming there - it's a nice lake - beautiful scenery, chilly blue water. However, unless that was a person's last wish (...and then toss me into lovely Lake Zurich) it was a bad move.
Well said.
It was Edward Downes and his wife Lady Downes. Interesting was a line from her final letter to family and friends: “I have no religion and as far as I am concerned it will be an “offswitch” so after you have thought about it a bit dont worry.”
Looks like what Obamacare will turn out to be.
