ARIZONA IS BESIEGED by illegal immigration--more people and drugs cross illegally into the United States through Arizona than any other state. And Arizonans suffer the massive levels of crime that go with it. Drug and human smuggling, extortion, kidnapping and murders. And the Federal government has done NOTHING to stop it.
Arizonans have had enough. They decided to stop waiting for the Feds to do what the Constitution mandates--to protect its citizens from external threats. so they passed legislation--SB1070--to help stop the robberies, shootings, rapes, kidnapping, murders, and madness.
As Michelle Malkin has said: "They’re doing the job the feds won’t do — taking the law and our borders seriously to protect the health, safety, and welfare of our citizens first."
This isn't about racism, or xenophobia, or "apartheid" or any of the other hysterical slanders the left has come up. This is about the safety and well-being of the citizens of the state. And its support was overwhelming--70% of Arizonans supported it; and bi-partisan--with 84% of Republicans and 51% of Democrats in favor.
WE STAND WITH ARIZONA. WE STAND AGAINST ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION. WE STAND AGAINST THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT'S REFUSAL TO ADDRESS SECURING THE BORDERS OR ENFORCING LAWS AGAINST ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION. WE STAND AGAINST THE PLAN TO PROVIDE AMNESTY FOR THE 15-20 MILLION ILLEGALS IN THIS COUNTRY.

But this number isn’t high enough for Dem Cong Gutierrez and his 92 co-sponsors. Their Comprehensive Immigration Reform bill includes a provision called “recapture” that will add up all the supposedly “unused” work visas since 1992 and issue them immediately.
This is a complete fraud, as all unused work visas are rolled over to the family reunification category the next year as it is.
Gutierrez' Comprehensive Immigration Reform bill will create 100,000 visas from countries that send the most illegal immigrants every year. According to the State Department, this will mean 550,000 new foreign workers.
AND GET THIS Mexico is the staging area for Third World and other illegals preparing to violate our borders. The Comprehensive Immigration Reform bill rewards Mexico b/c they calculatedly promote illegal immigration.
Gutierrez' bill will make it much easier for more illegal aliens to break in. Under the Bill, to prove they have jobs and were in the country BEFORE Congress passed amnesty, illegals are allowed to use stolen ID's, fake green cards, and fraudulent SS numbers....... without fear of prosecution.
Mexico facilitates the profitable staging area for global illegals to cross the border. Contrary to Obama’s claim that CIR bill will increase border security, it does just the opposite.........

First it was McCain (with Bush), now it's Lindsey Graham heading up the amnesty crusade for the Republicans. What the hell is "a Republican" anymore, anyway?
But, if this happens before the 2010 election and McCain votes for it (which he will), he can immediately start planning his retirement. Can't imagine that Arizonans would re-elect him after that -- Sarah Palin support or not.

As members of the immigrant advocacy and faith community spoke out strongly against the legislation, the students chained themselves to a door closest to the legislative wing of the Capitol.
They were soon after arrested and taken to the Maricopa County jail. (Welcome to Sheriff Joe’s place! lol)
Attorney Antonio Bustamante, who represents 1 of the students arrested, says the students chose to chain themselves to the Capitol doors to “block the bigotry that was emanating from the Legislature” and send a message to Gov. Jan Brewer.

Nothing. But if he comes in legally, he will have to show his income. That will cost him and his wife & kids 25- 30,000 in welfare supplements. THAT is why.
Bush pushing amnesty (or anything related to illegals) in 2006-2007 was a recipe for disaster. A lose-lose for republicans. And liberals now are hoping even if it loses that Hispanics will be so mad at Republicans for opposing it they will vote in masses in November.
But this is not 2006-2007, republicans are not in charge, unemployment is high, gas prices are going up, democrats not Bush are being blamed. It is not as bad as it was then. Republicans can point to free health care and the 47% that pay no income taxes already as an argument against more.

Nah...like true politicians, they’ll lie and absolutely swear they are against ‘amnesty’, but, but, but, as we’ve seen with Bush, McCain, Thompson, Palin, etc., compassion will dictate that they support some kind of a path to citizenship (AMNESTY) for so-called “non-criminal” ILLEGAL aliens.
