Wisdom from Dietrich von Hildebrand
Back in 1973 von Hildebrand called the bishops' dereliction of their duties to be "one of the most horrifying and widespread diseases of the Church today." Of course he had seen the outright rebellion to Humanae Vitae and the Land O' Lakes rebellion staged by Catholic colleges. Von Hildebrand then rebukes those same bishops for persecuting those who try to speak out for the True Church. I've no doubt that Von Hildebrand himself suffered at the hands of more than one derelict bishop.
The latest example of such a strange prelate is perhaps Cardinal George of Chicago. Recently he bestowed an award on notorious race-baiter and dissident Father Michael Pfleger (see several previous posts on this blog) while trying to silence Tom Roesser, a faithful Catholic writer. --Restore-DC-Catholicism

Please pray for the Bishops (and for Michael Voris as well), for, as St. Padre Pio has stated, "It is easier for the earth to exist without the sun, than without the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass."

Amen. We should pray for the clergy each and everyday.
God our Father, who have appointed Your only begotten Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, to be our eternal High Priest for the glory of Your majesty and for the salvation of mankind:- grant that they whom He has chosen to be His ministers and the stewards of His mysteries may be found faithful in the ministry which they have received.
+ We ask this through the same Jesus Christ, Your Son, our Lord. Amen. +

I was a Missouri Synod Lutheran for over 33 years, and never attended a mass either, except for weddings/funerals. The last 25 years, however, I've attended mass over 9,000 times (and been to Lutheran services for weddings/funerals:)).

Voris doesn’t mention it but he is, at least in part, referring to the current state of affairs in Chicago. Cardinal George is taking nasty, unseamly steps to silence conservative Catholic columnist Tom Roeser, who has exposed the corruption in the Chicago archdiocese and the USCCB. Cardinal George has accused Roeser of “hate mongering” (perhaps because Roeser referred to His Eminence as a small, balding man with soft hands). Meanwhile, the Cardinal gives the Lifetime Achievement Award to the liberal wacko heretic, Father Pfleger.

Thank you! My husband interviewed Cardinal George in 1998, and New Oxford Review took the piece immediately, excited to publish it, but then called back a couple days later to say maybe the Cardinal was just having "a bad day," and they decided not to go with it. Thanks. Very revealing. He comes off as an administrator but not a shepherd. That has been his downfall.
