Arizona "Birther" Bill Dismissed by White House, Slammed by Critics
CBS ^ | 4/21/10 | Stephanie Condon

Kyrsten Sinema, a Democratic representative in the Arizona state legislature, said the "birther bill" recently advanced in the Arizona House would make the state "the laughing stock of the nation." Reaction to the legislation indicates people agree.

The Arizona House of Representatives on Monday voted 31 - 22 to advance a bill that would require Arizona's secretary of state to review a presidential candidate's birth certificate before that candidate could get on the ballot in the state.

The Arizona Republic reports, "The legislation originated from a fringe group that believes President Barack Obama is not a natural-born citizen of the United States and therefore ineligible to be president."

All it takes is ONE. Can you imagine the eruption if a major party candidate simply didn't appear on the ballot of ANY state in the Union?

You are exactly right, this is a game changer. I wonder what they will do to stop it.

If AZ does it we might get Idiaho, Montana, one of the Dakotas, maybe Kanasas or OK.

AZ is the key.

“I’m sure as this heats up, the Obama admin and all the resources at their disposal will have no problem manufacturing a legit certificate and the media will gleefully wag it in our faces..”

I would assume so too. A story floated from England about the BC being destroyed in a fire. It seemed like a trial balloon. The trick is to recruit co-conspirators in Hawaii. How many people can you trust with the same secret? If the release of the BC isn’t handled through proper channels, then it’s just a larger coverup.

In a way, a side of me would be relieved if he could successfully forge a BC, or if he had a legit one all along. I’ve often wondered if he has some picky-u secret that few would care about, but might tarnish the family name somehow. The Michelle goof about “Kenya”, heck, that could be a red herring for all I know.

The bill passed 31-22 and that’s a fringe group?

You have to remember, BO and his minions keep saying they already showed his BC. Only those really paying attention know that is a lie. Somehow we have to get the message out to those with short attention spans that BO has never actually made his BC public. Unfortunately I don’t know how to do it. We have to fight the MSM with the constant lie of he already released it.

So, what seems to be the problem with complying with this requirement? Seems like a simple thing to me. You need to have a birth certificate to get a passport, why not to run for POTUS?

I would love to see him apply for a driver’s license in FL.

What did he use in Illinois, I wonder. I used my LF/BC to get my IL license in 2001.

What’s so laughable about a state wanting to review a candidate’s birth certificate before they put them on the ballot in that state? Seems like due diligence to me.

Many years ago I was required to present a valid birth certificate to get a driver's license.Somehow I think the Presidency of the United States is a bit more important than that.

“”the laughing stock of the nation.””

That’s better than being the puking stock. That’s what Obama is to thinking people.

LTC Lakin is a decorated veteran, but not a CMH winner. It’s his commanding officer who holds the CMH.

Can’t the various states determine how candidates qualify to be on a state’s ballot? Isn’t that constitutional?

******

What a horrible law proposal in Arizona.

What will we have next: Little League officials requiring players to present their long form birth certificates before they can join a Little League team?

Oh, I'm sorry. I think Little League officials already have that requirement. Never mind.
