White House aides are scoffing at a move in the Arizona legislature to force President Obama to show his birth certificate to get on the state's ballot in 2012 for his likely re-election battle.

My thought exactly. Holy crap that’d be cool!
If I recall correctly, wasn’t Oklahoma also starting the process to pass a similar law?
All it takes is ONE state. And what’s Zero gonna do? File a lawsuit and claim they have no right to ask for verification? Good luck. His dillatory and obstructionist tactics regarding his long-form birth certificate brought us to this day. And I’ve noticed they’re getting snottier and snottier the more they’re asked about it.
As someone upthread said perfectly — it’ll take you ten minutes to clear this up, Zero.
But, he’s so vain, he probably thinks the law is about him...
So, a proper State of the Union, with duly elected officials isn’t allowed to pass legislation relative to basic voting requirements?
“A system of highly centralized government in which one political party or group takes control and grants neither recognition nor tolerance to other political groups.” (”Totalitarianism”, defined).
So anyone still believe that he will release his BC anytime soon to discredit the birthers or can we put that theory to sleep yet?
personally, I was stunned to learn that there was NOT an existing mechanism in any state to verify that candidates for POTUS met the constitutional qualifications.
Ummm... the hospital where I was born no longer exists. So, if I were a presidential candidate, they wouldn’t be able to provide a birthcertificate.
Ditto that. But I would hope they would also ask for the candidate's PARENTS long-forms as well. If one of your parent's was not a citizen - then you are still not natural born according to Vattel.
You have to provide your parent's birth certificates along with your own to gain entrance into the D.A.R. Nobody in the D.A.R. has her hand on the nuclear button, so a potential POTUS shouldn't get a pass either. JMO.
This is why I like Arizona's wording to provide all documention proving eligibility, not just one measely little abbreviated short form computer generated printout.
Actually, there are statutes in some states allowing just such verification. But not a single state official bothered to do so. Not one.
This is a question that has been answered exhaustively,
Sayin it dont make it so. It is not a question that has been answered.
**********
It’s the question that may ultimately start the shooting war.
OMG! LOL! Star you are a wizard!
It really only takes the one.
If he refuses and is not on the ballot in that one state,
that will be enough to tip the scales.
“I thought those ‘birthers’ were nuts, but their seems to be something to it. I’ll just vote for Sarah to be on the safe side.”
Republicans control many legislatures and governorships.
Here’s their opportunity to prove that they have even a teeny-tiny bit of concern about their sworn oaths to uphold the Constitution of the United States.
If they’re cowards and they will punt on this, they will punt on anything.
We need the demand for legitimate credentials to prove that the Constitution is being followed to be made in multiple states, not just one.
OK - the county health department or some other “official” office. How’s that?
I was surprised by the original Orly Taitz case, where the defendant was simply “Settled”. Will we see another “Settlement” in this case ? Will Obama not bend, and simply throw the state ?
I really don’t think he cares about “Elections” anymore.
Perfect!
This is a BIG if, but IF the original birth certificate is uncovered at a later date after BO finishes his term and it shows that he is not a natural born citizen, would that invalidate his presidency and any bills that he signed into law?
It’s not about the number of electors. It is about the PR. One state doesn’t have a candidate on the ballot and people with start to wonder what is up with that. The rest is a house of cards.
Do you mean to tell me that some reporter for CNN actually broached the subject “on record”? I’m shocked. Way more shocked by that than the scoffing! ;)
Show it to me. I will then be quiet.
