TMZ has learned Kal Penn -- aka Kumar from that "White Castle" movie -- was robbed at gunpoint early this morning while walking in a neighborhood in Washington D.C.
Law enforcement sources tell TMZ Penn claims a man carrying a gun approached him around 1:20 AM and took his wallet and other personal property.
We're told Penn immediately reported the incident to authorities, who have launched an investigation into the matter.
Multiple calls to Penn's rep were not returned.

How can this be possible. Carrying handguns is ILLEGAL in Washington, DC. Kumar should have been able to FEEL perfectly safe on the streets of the capitol.

Janine Turner? Isn’t she the nut that got a DUI a few years ago? Plus Northern Exposure sucked. I tried to watch it once and was stupid. Friday Night Lights I bought the first season and watched one episode...could not get into it. Turner is a d actress at best or just does not pick good roles.

It ain't just DC, we suffer from this in my hometown, too. MSM reports: "There's been a holdup. Perp reported as a male, medium height, medium build". LOL! I'll go arrest the 50-or-so guys in my office that fit that description.
Actually, my local paper carries a "Most Wanted" article once a week. Couple of mug shots of local low-lifes and what they're wanted for. Actually is a good idea, works well in getting a pretty good number of them off the street.
Anyhoo, some local community organizer "noticed" that a disproportionate number of the photos were of, erm, "diversity" and complained loudly to the powers that be. Fortunately for the newspaper, white people in our town commit crimes and skip out on baill too....but occasionally we get two photos:
Photo #1 is "Tyrone De'onte Jones. Wanted for Drugs, Murder, Robbery".
Photo #2 is "Robert Wayne "Bubba" Smith. Wanted for keeping undersized fish in his bass boat".
Or some such. What the hell, balance is restored to the force, and we still get bad guys off the street. Bass everywhere feel safer, I'm sure.
