PHOENIX (AP) -- The Arizona House on Monday voted for a provision that would require President Barack Obama to show his birth certificate if he hopes to be on the state's ballot when he runs for re-election.
The House voted 31-22 to add the provision to a separate bill. The measure still faces a formal vote.

Nobody would suffer all this controversy needlessly.
That's the thing that keeps me thinking about this. If I could shut these people up I'd do it, and sit back and mock those who tried to ruin me. Instead, he lets it go on. And we know how sensitive he is to ANY criticism.
Just one state needs to do this and make it bullet proof in what it required... an original long form birth certificate which can be corroborated by hospital records.
Because he's the Regime Leader and he gets to make up the rules. It's not in our best interest to question The Dear Leader's judgment.

Which seems like a legitimate position.
Arizona seems to be heading in the right direction.
My family and I are going to AZ this summer for vacation. I wonder if the citizens would mind if I didn’t leave?
bingo
“To win the election he may not have to contest those states, but then not even the MSM can avoid asking the question: Why does he not show his papers??”
We need to push for something like this here in Florida.
Perhaps his Father is someone no one has thought of yet. The truth would, indeed, be cleansing for this nation.
Agreed! But, the birth certificate is a start, not the end!
His mother could not renounce his citizenship.
If born American, your citizenship is a birthright untouchable by the courts or administrative action. If you have American citizenship from birth, the only person who can take that citizenship from you is yourself.
You have to both affirmatively renounce it and act in a manner consistent with renouncing it. Simply acquiring a second citizenship is not enough.
Parents do not have the right to renounce a child’s citizenship.
That’s it exactly—the birth certificate is the start, not the end. In itself, if released, I bet it would prove nothing. And then a few days after it was released, someone would put it together with something else, and...
Now, knock McLame out of the park.
He doesn’t look one bit like Senior, that’s for sure.
I’ve been asking that question for a year. No, The Marxist Onada is not being clever. Only a fool would let the questioin of his birth go unresolved for so long if he had a credible document proving it. Even though Onada publicly ignores the issue, it must still be distracting. It is certainly distracting enough that he and his handlers must organize legal defenses and expend time preparing for and arguing in court.
All Onada is doing is playing for time. He hopes his ineligibility for the Presidency will not catch up with him before the end of his term—or he can pull some political stunt that results in the suspension of presidential elections.
Every state should enact a similar law.
The fact that Obama has spent so much money in hiding his birth records speaks for itself.
“Seems to me that holding onto the ‘myth’ wouldn’t be as important as holding onto the office.”
Except, he wrote a book about his father - BHO, Sr. When his dad turns out to be Frank Marshall Davis, everyone will know for sure that he is a full on liar and communist (born and raised)!!!!
I mean, most of us already know this, but this will be proof!
Maybe he doesn’t have one. But the BC is only the tip of the iceberg. I posit that the suspect claimed non-U.S. citizenship at various times to apply for goodies like student financial aid. Was it Barack the Kenyan or Barry the Indonesian? In either case, he can’t start releasing documents unless he wants to have to release them all.
