BADA BING!!!
Funny, I worked in the area about 22 years ago. It was a summer job while I was in college.
“Police said the shooter did have a permit for his gun. He is not facing charges.”
Good call. The guy would be smart to get his permit ASAP (it is the law, like it or not), but it’s good that he’s not be rousted for defending himself.
Also, I know that area of Indianapolis a bit from my visits to the city... it’s not a very nice area. Not as bad as The Meadows, or Haughville, but a little sketchy in places. I’d be packing, too.
These guys deserve the Neighbor of the Year award.
I always appreciate it when someone new moves in and immediately makes a positive impact on the neighborhood.
Whoops, I thought it was “did NOT” have a permit. Sorry about that!
One thing the article failed to mention was the fact that the dead thug had a monitoring ankle bracelet already (according to another local paper)
In Indiana, there is no permit required in your home. Only to carry
I think we need to go back to the medieval practice of putting the head of a robber/thief on a pike. Only if you have to kill him, mind you, but what it would serve as a nice warning and I’m sure HGTV or Martha Steawart could find a way to work it into the landscaping theme.
Nice of them to take out the trash.
house warming party!
Well there you go... he wanted to comply with the rules so he stayed close to home.
Thanks for the info. Like I said, I misread the story the first time. But it’s good to know the guy wouldn’t have been jammed up over a permit issue in either case.
(playing Devil’s Advocate here for a moment - )
Seriously, moving time in an apartment building would make for easy pickings.
Everything you got is passing thru, often boxes are put down and unattended while your helpers are rushing all over the place - there’s lots of chances for scooping stuff up ....

Good, I hope he died slowly and it hurt a lot!
And nothing of value was lost.
Remind me not to call the Indy Welcome Wagon.
