...The left cant compete in the Christian market. Lets face it, the folks who declare Robert Mapplethorpe art simply have no credibility in that particular market. With that said, Country is a family friendly format they still think they have a chance of corrupting, and Miley Cyrus may be their perky little Trojan horse into that industry...

“Disneyfied young lady with a Christian background and the values to boot.”
Nah, she’s just an immature, silly little tart with zero class or skill.

I bet if anyone asked her how the leftist policies was effecting her bottom line (money) she wouldnt know what they were talking about.

Hasn't Miley Cyrus already been replaced by Justin Bieber as the teen idol?
To: EveningStar
I'm very excited to be here tonight, and I'm very excited because I got some great news today. I've finally got my own TV show coming out as a replacement show this fall! It's a half-hour weekly show that I will be hosting, entitled "Let's Hunt and Kill Billy Ray Cyrus".
I think it's fairly self-explanatory! Each week we let the Hounds of Hell loose and chase the jar-head, no talent, cracker-idiot all over the globe till I finally catch that fruity little ponytail of his, put a shotgun....

(Sorry, but the gag routine gets more than a little NSFW thereafter, but I figured I could quote that much, er -- given the subject matter of the thread...)

I think that Justin Beiber punk is more of a threat. He is set to stune and is hugh and series.
Actually I don't think I have listened to either on of them.

I have a feeling that Miley is quickly headed to that spot where she is no longer a teen idol and not talented enough to complete in the adult world of talent. My kids grew up before the Hanna Montana thing, so I've been spared seeing her, but Disney keeps a stable of reasonably talented young girls to be the "next thing." Britney, Lindsey Lohan, and what's her name that played Lizzie MacGuire have all gone from being the "next thing" to being "the thing" to being has beens.
Nothing has a shorter shelf life than teenage jailbait pop stars.

Taylor Swift ... can’t sing worth a FReep, but she’s six feet tall with $1000 of gorgeous hair.

The big changeover in country music, IMHO, started with Buck Owens. His Bakersfield sound brought a lot of pop influence to country music. Shortly after Buck, Linda Ronstadt, the Eagles, the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, and a lot of other California sound individuals and groups really muddied the waters between pop and country.

I’m a big Coe fan. He used to have a terrific voice, lots of range, and he’s a very original songwriter. Sort of a preview of Steve Earle, only more so.

Ha! Ha! I just heard about him for the first time the other day. I think his haircut alone will make his career a very short one.

Yeah...I always liked DAC...truly a gifted songwriter. Not many people realize he wrote "Would You Lay With Me" and "Please Come To Boston" (among many other great hits by other artists.)
I've seen him live a couple times...

For adults, yes. My non-Anoreth daughters are 10 and 12. Taylor Swift and Selena Gomez are very popular in our house.
