After my first Christmas mass, I felt strange for days. As hard as I tried, I couldn't put my finger on why.
A week later, it dawned on me -- I felt peaceful. Aha! No wonder I was stumped! . . .
I headed out to a few more lovely services -- at a synagogue, a Lutheran church, and, my personal favorite, Assemblies of God (as a perk, Sarah Palin's church of choice).
While perusing the Yellow Pages, I eyed another contender -- a church in a nearby town that touted superb music and a dynamic congregation.
When I called to find out more, I was pleased that the minister himself answered the phone. When I asked him to describe his church, he answered rather sternly, "We do God's work through social justice."
Taken aback, I said, "I'm looking for a church that focuses on God, not politics."
He countered vociferously, "We get to God through social justice!"
"That's a matter of dispute," I responded. "Thank you for your time." Click.
When I got off the phone, I was shaken up -- literally. My entire body was shaking.
It was partly the creepiness of a minister sounding so possessed . . . insidious is the new crop of leftists. Wearing the cloak of respectability, they trick the masses through flowery words about hope and change.
But those of us who recognize Light also know the chill of darkness. The Left is nocturnal. Its followers live and breathe in the dark . . .

As far as I recall the only way to God was through Jesus.
I do not think Jesus would teach us that it is a virtue to be generous with other people’s money.
I'll bet he stays busy...
Jesus never took anything from anyone and gave it to someone else.
There is a plan C, almost as old as Creation, so we know their playbook. Contaminate Creation itself. It's happened before. It'll happen again, heralding the end of the age.
As in the days of Noah, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
I hope this writer’s not implying Obama could be Jesus.
You mean Jesus didn't show up with the Roman soldiers
and take half of everyone's harvest to feed the poor and
keep 80% for himself and his disciples?
Of course not.
Jesus did not teach the redemption of man by political force!
liberation theology is a Satanic creed.
The Bible tells us that Jesus is the Word. Which means the Old Testament also.
The Old Testament tells us that a good parent leaves an inheritance for their children.
It tells us to pursue wisdom and flee from folly.
By wisdom a house/home is built.
By wisdom prosperity is made.
Foolishness or folly lead to ruin and dispair.
The wise man built his home on the rock, the fool on the sands. That when the storms came, the fools house was swept away, but the wise mans house was safe.
The Bible teaches us that there are consequeces, good or bad, for our actions.
The Bible tells us the all good gifts and blessings are from God. If God were marxist, would he not bless all equally?
The Bible tells us that if we live a certain way, he will bless us, which means if we don't live that way he won't bless us. Again that inequality thing.
The Bible talks about money or possesions more than any other single thing. It tells how to aquire it, and what to do with it.
Proverbs 31 tells of a dillegent, virtuous woman. She gets up early to prepare food for her family and servants. NEXT she considers a field and buys it. Then she plants a vineyard. AND YET she's already fed her family and servants, and still she buys a field and plants a vineyard FOR MORE? Then it tells us her and her family wear fine clothes.
The Bible teaches ANYTHING BUT marxism, and has nothing to do with todays "Social Justice".
I don’t think the author of the Bible will mind.
Thank you. :)
What can I say? Of course Jesus was here to preach the gospel of Karl and Marx. Of course Jesus was here to promote the superiority of the state over God. It's beyond question that Jesus wanted the state to enforce it's own morality as determined by the political wind and rob man of his free will to serve God of his own accord rather than being compelled to do so by central planning for the purpose of wealth redistribution. I heard it on ABC, NBC and CBS donchaknow?
The great problem with such a philosophy is that those who practice it try to choose what “good” they will do and how they will do it.
Jesus defined the priorities of Christian justice and those who touted their powerful works in his name were rejected as “lawless” while others gave their tenth of the mint and the dill and the cummin but disregarded the weightier matters of the Law such as justice, mercy and faithfulness.
Was Jesus a Marxist? It was Micah's prophecy that under Christ's rule each would sit under his own vine and fig tree not one rented from the state.
Priests who preach “social justice” are like government bureaucrats and politicians. They don’t work in the real world. They have a secure salary which comes from a vast entity. There is little chance that they will lose their jobs, so they can afford the luxury of lofty thoughts. Like aristocrat philosophers, they think they can solve all the world’s problems from the comfort of their armchairs.
I’ve heard some explanations for Paul collecting money to be sent back to the Christians in Jeruselum that were having a difficult time. They were trying their hand at communal living. I think there are other New Testament accounts where lazy folks were being admonished. Presumably in one of these communal living arrangements.
And of course the Pilgrims barely made it until they switched to a “free-market” system of living.
For even when we were with you, we used to give you this order: if anyone is not willing to work, then he is not to eat, either. II Thess 3:10
I’ve never seen a Social Justice believer yet who could successfully explain away the above NT verse.
No, Jesus was not a Marxist. The distinction may be made by a discussion of Marxist vs Christian altruism. Ayn Rand made such a distinction in regard to free nation-states emphasizing support and celebration of individual endeavors, rather than the group only endeavors demanded by Marxism. Jesus and Christianity focus on the individual and his right and duty to be charitable in and of himself, with the personal, reward of self-satisfaction, not compelled by group pressure and thus devoid of human dignity and joy of having been expected by others to something good and being judged by them. An excerpt from an article:
“Altruism, on the contrary, requires each individual to live for the sake of the group, trusting that his or her own needs will be provided for. Altruism typically holds that individual fulfillment occurs through service to others; most religions openly state this, and it is a driving force in socialism and communism, too. Altruism places the survival of the group ahead of the survival of any individual, and this is what enables the repression and slaughter common to extremely altruistic societies. Stalin is generally regarded to have had killed more people than Hitler, and both did it in the name of the group.”

2 Timothy 2:4 “No one serving as a soldier gets involved in civilian affairshe wants to please his commanding officer.”
Social justice is “getting involved in civilian affairs.” What does our Commander want?
1 Timothy 6:11-12 “...pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance and gentleness. Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called when you made your good confession in the presence of many witnesses.”
If we feed and clothe but do not speak of Jesus, we aren’t serving God, our true CINC. Feeding and clothing is great, but we need to focus on the much greater spiritual war. That includes myself, who often spends more time concerned about politics, i.e. civilian affairs, than spreading the Word—may God forgive me.
