I don't know what to think of Mediaite. I do know that it's run by Dan Abrams.

Oh God... I agree with Pat Buchanan.
I think the world is ending. Seriously, “silly” is exactly what I would call it. PR stunt at best.

The contract was brilliant. The subsequent betrayal, not so much.

That’s exactly what I think of Pat Buchanan.

There is a reason why the most liberal TV network chose him as their ‘token’ Conservative(so-called).

What has Pat Buchanan ever done for the American people?
Nothing.
He is taking shots at folks who did do something. Now, I may not agree with everything Newt Gingrich has done since leaving Congress, but Newt has been far more pro-active and consistent in his actions and statements than Buchanan ever has in his lifetime.

With the “contract” the Repubs swept congress, and then proceeded to force Clinton to enact their agenda. He was reduced to claiming credit for signing bills after they beat the snot out of him and made him sign them.
To this day he still takes credit for their agenda. What else has he got?

The one thing that would have counted for something, term limits, didn’t happen. It was an anti-Toon vote all the way.

You know, it worked. It stopped BJ Clinton’s agenda dead in it’s tracks.
But I guess that’s “silly” to Buchanan.

Buchanan’s campaign for president as the Reform Party candidate was one of the silliest things that ever happened in American politics.

The contract said they would bring ten items up for a vote in the House. They did so with nine of them (term limits being the exception).
So the contract was kept (for the most part), but the philosophy was certainly betrayed after the GOP got comfortable in Washington.

I think Pat is salivating over the prospect of the Brown Shirt Brigade his new best bud, Uberfuehrer Obama, promised to form.

Attention whore Pat Buchanan makes Chucky Schumer look camera shy.
To: SoothingDave
They did bring up term limits, but it was voted down. I believe they needed 2/3 for that one.
