The Obama administration is reportedly signaling another major shift in policy towards one of its staunchest allies, Israel, and this shift could change the way it votes at the Security Council. The change would mean an end to the US' use of its veto power in the United Nations Security Council when certain anti-Israel resolutions are introduced for a vote.
Reports surfaced a couple of weeks ago, that a senior US diplomat met with Qatar's foreign minister in Paris. They discussed the possibility that the US was giving serious consideration to not using its veto if a vote on Israeli settlements was to come up. It has been the policy of successive administrations to veto virtually all anti-Israel resolutions at the Security Council.

Further building by Israelis in Gaza undermines the “two state solution” for peace. Without the creation of two separate states, in ten years Arabs will outnumber Jews in the West Bank, Gaza, and even in Israel itself.
Israel’s chief negotiator with the Palestinians, Foreign Minister Levini, said recently on 60 minutes that peace is “unthinkable” with all the settlers in Gaza. When she was asked about the difficulties of moving all the settlers back to Israel she replied, “It’s not going to be easy. But this is the only solution.”
Israel pulled out of Gaza years ago, and it was a complete diaster as the Arabs not only mindlessly destroyed everything worthwhile abandoned by the departing Jewish community (like food production facilities), but actually increased both their demands and terrorist activity subsequent to the departure. (Gee, who could've seen that coming?).
I believe you're referring to the Jews in the W. Bank, not Gaza. ...a far larger (and thankfully ever-growing) community. Livni and other brain-dead libs on both sides of the Atlantic are deluded beyond description if they believe that if the Jews in the W. Bank were forceably removed from their homes that it would result in anything other than a complete disaster. ...far worse than what happened after the Gaza withdrawal.
Appeasement of Mohammedans never works. Not once, not ever. It merely encourages them.
As I have heard many Jewish people say on TV. Israel must always rely on itself to assure that the holocost never happens again, and it will make sure it can defend itself.
I wonder if it is possible for a late forty something American guy to go and join the IDF ?????
I don’t have a clue, but I would guess no.
“I believe you’re referring to the Jews in the W. Bank...”
Right.
“Appeasement of Mohammedans never works...”
With regards to the creation of a separate Palestinian state, the intent would be not to just satisfy the Muslim community, but to preserve Israel as a Jewish state as well. As the Muslims continue to out-reproduce the Jews, the Jews will become a minority in their own country in about ten years. Therefore, it is in their interests to have someplace to send the Muslims. Another option is for Israel to surrender the West Bank to Jordan and allow them to immigrate there.
Allowing continued Jewish settlement of the West Bank makes all options for a separate place for these Muslims to go more difficult, and could ultimately lead to great difficulties for Israel.
That's for sure. But that place doesn't have to include the small slice of land currently settled by the Jewish community in the W. Bank. As I mentioned, giving the Arabs what they ask for not only doesn't guarantee peace (as many naively believe), it in fact puts Israel in greater danger.
I have a few ideas on how to resolve this business, and none of them are pretty. A couple of them are quite radical, in fact. But among the most palatable is George Will's recommendation of A Short War and a High Wall.
How about securing the West Bank and aggressively driving the filthy subhumans back into Jordan, where they came from in the first place.
“How about securing the West Bank and aggressively driving the filthy subhumans back into Jordan, where they came from in the first place.”
Maybe. Interesting that the US is eight years into fighting two wars to help their counterparts in Iraq and Afghanistan establish Western-style democracy. How did that happen?

To impeach Zer0 would take a simple majority vote of the House. To convict him following impeachment would take a 2/3’s supermajority vote of the Senate (67 votes).
ballot box in Nov?? Not with the Jewish voters. They worship obama.
Go away, lefty. (Yes, I’ve looked at your posting history, sweetie. You’re not fooling anybody.)
Obama isn't running till 2012. Israel could be a memory by then.
That's it in a nutshell. Liberal jews are no more Jews than liberal Democrats are really for democracy.
??? The Israelis under Sharon evacuated Gaza several years ago. As for the "two state solution," settlers in the West Bank are the least obstacle possible.
If the Palis really wanted a two state solution, settlers would be no issue at all. They could stay where they are and the Palis could welcome them. That's if the palis were serious of course, which they demonstrably are not.
I was talking about the impact to Dems in 2010 mid-term elections.
Bo is using our nation for whatever advantage he determines promotes himself in the eyes of the international community but the worlds leaders are not playing his street game....he has failed greatly in gaining popularity among the leaderships world wide...they seem him as a dunce. Therefore they can and will manipulate him....if behind a rock and hard place I would assume he will vote..."present". He is a gutless wonder!
