It strikes me that the Syrians should be on their knees thanking their god that Israel was just “close” to war this winter.

I don’t think they are out of the woods yet by any stretch of the imagination, particularly with this news coming out this week that they are supplying Hezbollah with SCUDs.

It's happening all over again. Hezbollah is arming up; preparing fortifications. Didn't realize these Scuds went in a while ago. Shows Bush's attitude toward Syria was entirely correct, and that all the liberals that went bowing and scraping to Assad got nothing. Well, Israel didn't destroy the missiles while they were in transit, so they'll have to see how many they can destroy after the launching begins. Also makes you wonder if Saddam didn't have some chemical WMD that went to Syria and will now end up in these warheads.
