Angry Fox News executives reportedly ordered Sean Hannity to abandon plans, announced as late as this afternoon on his nationally syndicated radio program, to broadcast his TV show from a Cincinnati tea-party rally he was headlining.
Hannity, on a book tour for his No. 1 best-seller "Conservative Victory: Defeating Obama's Radical Agenda," was scheduled to be the featured speaker at a four-hour rally at the University of Cincinnati

Fox News became aware that a local tea party organization was charging a fee for proximity to the taping.
I did not organize the rally today...
I was a speaker this year and last year...
however, I was the GA State Coordinator for the Tax Day Tea Parties last year. I was well aware of all the drama and problems caused last year by Hannity along with a few of his friends here in the state.....the gals that organized last years rally pulled off a MIRACLE! This years rally went MUCH smoother and did not turn into a stress fest....

You need to back that statement up or else you’ll look like another whiny, jealous radio wannabe sucking sour grapes.
Why don't you expand on that and enlighten the rest of us with details.
You could do a lot of good if you do expound on your reasons for disliking Hannity and his group. It is not enough to say he caused problems... let us know the specifics and we can make up our own minds. So what is it that you know that we don’t?
It’s not about profits, it’s about credibility. Fox News is in the cross hairs of all the other MSM and they have to perform to a higher standard which means they cannot afford ANY possible breach of journalistic professionalism, and to have one of their top rated shows, which I reiterate broadcasts not just opinion but news, opens itself to criticism that it caters to a “paying audience” and this is simply unacceptable. It would be journalistic suicide.
Some Fox executives say they didn't like that fact that an admission was to be charged to the four hour event (Hannity just part of it). The admission was only $5 to $20, probably to cover expenses and a little profit for the organizers.
Maybe nothing was charged at the Beck event, but I wouldn't be surprised if we see other changes and restrictions at Fox in the future. Lots of odd occurrences around Fox in the past few months.
Well, was it for all media organizations or just FOX? I really can’t imagine any Tea Party group charging for media exposure - but let the money makers in charge and there you go... I would think that if the group as a whole knew about that, it would be stopped!...

maybe you should ask why he did not return to Atlanta this year.... You know he was here in ATL before he went to NY? ATL is his old stompin grounds with lots of old and faithful fans......

You nailed it. This is not without precedent. Dan Patrick of ESPN 15 years ago or so used to morning sports reports to various local radio stations. He would call in and spend 10 minutes with a DJ, and do this for a couple of hours. ESPN got wind of this and told him to stop. When a corporation has a policy, it needs to apply it equally to all employees.

Sorry, you are being way too simplistic. As long as all journalist organizations were charge - no problem. You seem to think that FOX should be different why? Maybe because they ARE different and you think that they should be treated the same. Well, they were... Not sure just why you are belly-aching about this at all...
If you really think that FOX should be held to a higher standard, then you are the biased one... They are just another NEWS organization - just happens that they DO broadcast both sides of issues... Good for them!!
I think the local tea party who charged for proximity to Sean had good intentions, their cause is absolutely just, I just think they didn;t think through the broader implications of their impact, and Fox News was forced to make the tough call. I’m sure Sean hated it but understood.
He was in Atlanta last night and broadcast his TV show from there.
Beck was not at an event that charged money and then donated it for a political movement.
FOX can pontificate all it wants, that is part of free speech, but being part of a money raising event for a political cause crosses the line of objectivity in journalism.
Yea right, lots of substance in that statement.
