I just had a very interesting and somewhat confusing conversation with New Orleans Police Department Public Information Officer Bob Young.
Mr. Young confirmed to me that the New Orleans police had indeed taken statements from both of the victims, Jindal aide Allee Bautsch and her boyfriend, Joe Young. He confirmed that in those statements, the victims reported that their assailants had indeed hurled insults at them, and the insults were, and I quote, of a political nature. Describing the entire attack, he went on to say it was of a political nature. I then repeated what he told me, and he confirmed it as accurate. I had a witness on the call, Mark Harvey of the Snooper Report, who can confirm this. However, for reasons Im not clear about, when I pressed him again later, he began to backtrack a bit, perhaps with some cya in regard to his superiors, and he said that he was not authorized to give an official statement about the contents of the insults, and for the record, it had not officially been made clear to him what the contents of those insults were. He ended up going from yes, it was of a political nature to Im not sure. Mark, an established blogger, was as baffled as I.
My read on this: he caught himself talking out of school in a relaxed opening with me, and then backtracked before he got his ass in trouble.
He then informed me that the lead detective on the case was one Detective Nick Gernin, a crack officer, one of the very best in the 8th Division, the Division assigned to cover the French Quarter. Detective Gernin had told him yesterday that he had a couple of hours of surveillance tapes to review last night. Mr. Young told me that the Detective wasnt in the office yet, but that as soon as he was, he would get a report from him as to the contents of those tapes, and he would call me with whatever their was to report about them.
Mr. Young also told me that there was no other new information to report on the case at this time, and that there were no named suspects on anybodys mind or list, yet.

It was only a question ...
They have spoken to police...they can speak to the press and their employers....THE GOVERNOR’S OFFICE!
Mystery continues on. What are people afraid of? Either it was political or it wasn’t. If it was, so what? Are they paranoid that right wingers will become unhinged. We already have plenty of reasons to have started beating in progressive heads. We saw the SEIU beat the guy up in St Louis already. Nothing new, so I don’t get what’s up with this.
Black-shirted Fascist thugs who do this need immediate and unassuaged attention of a physical nature.
That is my guess, if this was political....Jindal is uncomfortable with making waves.
Typical of Republicans and Conservatives, it is not in their nature to battle the left or their vast and powerful war room.
And who could blame them after 40 years of beat downs.
Battered wife syndrome.
Sorry, my frustration isn’t aimed at you,
but at these “let’s remain civil” kind of folks
in the face of such obvious intent to intimidate
and subjugate any and all opposition.
If it’s a CCW state,
the vast majority of CCHL’s are held by conservatives.
There’s your protection squad.
Like I’ve said before -
every time the left steps over another line,
we take a step back in order to “remain civil”.
There’s a cliff behind us, folks. There can BE no more stepping back.
And if it weren’t political, why would Jindal’s office have claimed (lied) that the victims were not wearing Palin pins?
Well, first of all, I think they are still in the hospital and the male has a broken jaw. abb may be correct as well...”the the woman works for the governor and they may be under orders to keep quiet” or it could just be that their attorney told them to keep quiet while it is being investigated.
good questions
need to get to the truth
I think that's damn close. And Jindal doesn't want to make waves. He's already on record saying Monday in his statement that "there was no evidence" that it was connected to the demonstration.
Jindal has been caught time and again with trying to thread the needle. He missed again this time.
Ah, yes—the NOPD: Not Our Problem, Dude.
Reason #6973 for the need to carry a firearm. You never know when they thugs will step out from the shadows.
all sorts of communists, fascists, anarchists, etc. have been proficient at utilizing street violence to intimidate and silence political opponents
these Friends-of-Obama knew exactly what they were doing
obamma Chicago thugs perhaps? probably back sleeping at their job in Chicago by now!
If these people had been democrats, then there would have been wall to wall msm coverage on this. And obamma would be out there speaking about it.
And Indiana expel Lake County.
Will the MSM cover this now?
