Sarah Palin Opens Door to Running With Mitt Romney Against Obama in 2012

Boston, MA -- Sarah Palin, the pro-life superstar who was John McCain's running mate in 2008, opened the door yesterday at a Tea Party event appearance to running with potential 2012 presidential candidate Mitt Romney. Palin has been keeping herself in the limelight since the last election by writing a book and appearing on television and numerous events.

"Frankly, I don't understand the vitriol against Romney on this
board.

Positive opinions about Romney among both Republicans AND
Democrats have increased by eight points since early 2008."

Ugh!!! That's what we do not want -- a president adored by Democrats. Are you frikin' kidding me! You're new here. Are you trolling?

Couldn’t be that the writer of this piece took an innocent, diplomatic answer to a stupid question and concocted an even stupider excuse for a column, could it?

Yep. And the sharply targeted angle of the story couldn't possibly have been suggested or urged by a Romney PR person, could it? Because it sure smells like Romney. The spinning of "opens a door!" from a bland, standardly civil response to a canned question sounds like the kind of high school popularity contest stunt that Eddie Haskell would pull on Wally on an episode of "Leave it to Beaver."

The MSM went fishing with the "Romney-Palin ticket" questions because reporters have everything to gain and nothing to lose no matter what her answer. I think the MSM would have preferred what many here would have liked to see, Palin snarling "Hell no!" in response. It would have provided so much more drama! It would also have failed to elevate Palin. She's smart, she likes people, and she's lived the way WE have lived, working middle class jobs to survive. Romney is from a different planet and about as much in touch with average Americans as Obama. But Palin has had to deal with his type before, I expect.

Frankly, I don’t understand the vitriol against Romney on this board.

Then you don't understand Romney and should ponder the concept of how much it profits one to lose one's soul but gain the world. A Romney victory would be defeat.

It's fairly easy to find video clips of his speech from the CPAC convention last year, and it's easy to find his written words. Again and again, he confirms that his solutions to "problems" involve more and bigger government, from health care to gay "rights," which really means denying each human's God-given right to reject open homosexuality in business and civic decisions. Romney's government "solution" would only give us the "freedom" to embrace it; we'd be fined or jailed for rejecting it.

Romney's consistent promotion of bigger, more intrusive government even goes global when it comes to the pretend "carbon plan." From his 2008 CPAC speech: "Any carbon plan has to be worldwide in scope. Let's have a worldwide solution, not an American one." So, OMG2012, you don't understand the vitriol against Romney on this board, in spite of the fact that Romney validates the "solution" of letting other nations oversee America's production and use of energy to fix the imaginary bogeyman of "global warming"?

You need to pay more attention to ROMNEY himself, not just what people say about him. I have, and that's why I harbor what you might call "vitriol" against any attempt by him to advance to power in the GOP. Just look at Romney's own words and record if you want to understand. But be sure that you really DO want to understand.

Sarah will never run with Mitt........he is unelectable....First he is a RINO, second he is Mormon, and third, he started Obama-care in Mass. and it is a disaster.

Give the Tea Party Patriots more credit. (Hell, give conservative Americans more credit while you're at it.) They are NOT Romney supporters. If they were, they would not be pissed off. I wager that the more Sarah Palin distanced herself from the current RINO establishment (i.e. Romney), the more conservatives would embrace her.

Romney is a limpd*ck RINO weenie squish. No conservative worthy of the title would think of voting for him, no matter who his running mate is. He's poison.

The willingness among too many conservatives to compromise their values in order to get someone elected simply because the candidate happens to have an (R) behind his name is precisely what got this country into the mess it's in. That kind of "conservative" is the LAST thing this country needs.

This country needs a person who can be easily and readily distinguished from people like Romney and McCain, both in conservative values and the courage to stand by true conservative candidates no matter where they happen to be delivering a speech- diplomacy be damned.

You could be right.

I'm thinking more and more that Sarah is a smarter and more Reagan-like figure than I ever imagined.

I don't think the press will be able to catch her dismissing or denigrating any other Republican because she knows they will use her words as a tool to pit Republican factions against each other and suppress the conservative vote.

I was actually responding to somebody’s post quoting Reagan’s 11th commandment. The poster said that not speaking ill of a fellow Republican is one thing...but saying she’d run on the same ticket with the arch-RINO is quite another, and Reagan would never have implied approval of his ideological opponent.

I didn’t say she wasn’t popular. I said she was not a particularly good politician. By that, I mean she seems to have a difficult time handling questions on the fly.

As for her record in Alaska, I do know that she put a lot of taxes on the oil companies. That’s not the best way to get things done IMO.

Sarah seems to be getting a bit erratic lately. Maybe too much time talking to Glen Beck?

>>I’m no fan of Romney, but you can’t possibly think he is as bad as the socialist Kenyan. Seriously -<<

No, but selecting Romney as our candidate (Palin or no) will guarantee that the kenyan will get another term.

A Romney/Palin ticket — or even a Palin/Romney ticket would be a disaster!

If she’s open to running with Romney then she should be open to running with Obama. They both support the same health care system.

“slam Romney while she was in Boston and piss off a whole bloc of his supporters there”

Romney still has supporters in MA?

Man I hope that Haley Barbor or Duncan Hunter, Gen Petreaus or someone other than Sarah has taken up the baton by 2012.
