Obama: I'm “only thing between you and the pitchforks.” (2009)
POLITICO ^ | April 3, 2009 | By EAMON JAVERS

Arrayed around a long mahogany table in the White House state dining room last week, the CEOs of the most powerful financial institutions in the world offered several explanations for paying high salaries to their employees — and, by extension, to themselves.

* * *

But President Barack Obama wasn’t in a mood to hear them out. He stopped the conversation and offered a blunt reminder of the public’s reaction to such explanations. “Be careful how you make those statements, gentlemen. The public isn’t buying that.”

“My administration,” the president added, “is the only thing between you and the pitchforks.”

The fresh details of the meeting — some never before revealed — come from an account provided to POLITICO by one of the participants. A second source inside the meeting confirmed the details, and two other sources familiar with the meeting offered additional information.

Here's a clue for the Kenyan-sired one. Which one is the Democrat?

Know who your REAL friends are before you put your foot in it.

Cheers!

[What does he mean?]

Obama’s telling these bankers that all he has to do is ratchet up the anti-Wall Street rhetoric and angry Americans will pounce on them and rip their limbs off. But if the bankers cooperate with the Democrat agenda Obama will hold the mob back. This room full of giant egos suddenly realize they are in the presence of a megalomaniac on the order of Hitler.

[Ahhh...you escaped!]

A company transfer got me there. I lived in Shrewsbury. This was 1986 to 1989. There were Republicans in that area. Peter Blute was our state rep. I read the Herald every day and listened to a conservative talk show guy named Jerry (something) in the afternoon. Teddy Kennedy called this guy's show drunk one day. It was bizarre. The Duke was running for president then and at the same time running half the business out of Mass with new taxes. He took that place from boom to bust. All in all I enjoyed the time I spent there and made some good friends.

Politico with this article is part of the Obama “I’m tough on banks and Republicans are not” campaign. The timing, just when Democrats have their $50 billion gift to bankers under the guise of cracking down on them, is obvious

Actually this was published a year ago around the AIG Hate Week and the paid “protesters” on Wall Street waving signs from the graphics shop of some Manhattan PR firm. But the rhetoric was a taste of the class resentment Democrats will try to stir up in coming weeks. Obama doesn't understand yet that lamely attempting to ignite racial and class hatred in modern America can result in a conflagration that burns up the arson.

What a great idea! Let’s make with the damned pitchforks, already. When is enough going to be enough?
