This was a solidly Democrat area, mostly Jewish.

Jews for Hitler. Who was that Jewish leader in Warsaw who kept on ratting out other Jews in the vain hope he'd be spared by his Nazi captors? Unlike George Soros, he wasn't.

These are the old fools that got the special Medicare Advantage Break. Obama said he was going to get rid of that break —— Riiiight!

Given their allegiance to the Democratic Party for the most part, there is no reason to believe American Jews support the State of Israel.

King Solomon wrote about these people in Proverbs 26: 11.

As a dog returneth to his vomit, so a fool returneth to his folly.

Exactly. I know people want to win every Tuesday, but this seat going Republican would be the equivalent of Democrats winning Utah in a presidential election.

During one of those brief spells during which I was able to endure the narcissism that is Dennis Prager, he managed to tell an interesting story about his favorite topic: himself.

As a young man engaging in the relentless pursuit of, well, himself, he decided to break kosher, to see if it was really his conviction.

He said that taking his first non-kosher bite was emotionally far less traumatic than casting his first Republican vote.

It’s that ingrained in the American Jewish conscience.

I can appreciate that, but I used to work in NYC, many Jewish people in my business. There is a reason the women are called JAPS. My cousin was married to a true JAP, she was not afraid to tell you she was Jewish, but her only worries were where to eat lunch/dinner, spa trips and the new inventory arriving at Barney’s and she was not unique.

“as likely to a Republican taking Pelosi’s seat”
Au Contrair....Deutch’s base is a definite 63% of 17% of a turnout...(another post had the count even less 56%).If Deutch had 70% I would agree. If you have a opposing candidate that hits 40% on a high teens/20% turnout this is a possible. Problem is the RNCC wouldn’t contribute a dime to this campaign.

There's plenty of good shopping in Tel Aviv.

He narrowed the gap slightly (it was 66 to 27 in the 2080 election), but this District is a long-term project. Gore got over 70% in 2000.

“Also, the D outspent the R 15-1; the repubs didn’t really contest this election.”

Hmmm, all the more to celebrate the low turnout...

““Dems outnumber repubs by more than 2 to 1. Final vote: Lynch (R) 33%; Deutch 64%. Turnout, an abysmal 17%.”

The good news for us is the low turnout...”

Dang ... NO ... with low turnout, you have more reason to vote, your vote counts more.

This is disappointing.

It is a heavily democrat district...low voter turnout means democrats were not motivated...that should reflect well in the fall with areas more evenly split between dems and Republicans.

ok, but imho if the GOP was more motivated the margin would have been narrower, also the indies should have protested... i was hoping for some movement away from the Dem.

I would have liked to have seen the same as you, however we have to remember where this is, how thick in democrats it is, and how much more the rats spent. But, it is also good news that the turnout was so low. Let’s put it this way, if it were a Republican rich area, I would be concerned and dismayed.

It will be interesting to see what impact having ACORN gone will have on this fall’s election turnout for democrats...
