Our betters in the blogosphere and mainstream media have spent the afternoon tut-tutting those of us who suspect a political angle to the savage attack on Republican Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal's chief fundraiser Allee Bautsch and her boyfriend Joe Brown last Friday night after a fundraising dinner in New Orleans.
The Hayride, for those who haven't noticed, has not retracted their report that the couple was attacked for wearing Sarah Palin pins, even though a spokesman for Gov. Jindal has put out e-mails to select reporters and bloggers saying they were not wearing Palin pins.
This evening, the New Orleans Police Department released a statement pleading with the public for information about the attack. The description by the police of the incident does not describe a robbery, but it also does not say what exactly precipitated the attack, nor does it report a motive.
The statement does describe the attackers as a group of "Caucasian" men, one of whom was described as "dirty" and wearing a beard and ponytail.
That describes a typical leftwing protester of the type that were hanging outside the Republican fundraiser taunting attendees.

Superintendent Warren J. Riley and members of the New Orleans Police are asking the public�s assistance in locating and identifying several suspects wanted in connection with an incident that occurred in the 600 block of Saint Louis Street . The incident occurred Friday April 9, 2010, at approximately 10:45 P.M.
According to investigators, the victims were walking from a function at a restaurant in the 400 block of Royal Street . When they entered the 600 block of Saint Louis Street , three to five Caucasian males made derogatory comments to the 25-year-old female and her 28-year-old male friend. When the male victim turned towards the group of men, one or more of the suspects struck the victim several times. At some point the female victim fell to the ground and screamed. The suspects then fled on foot. Officers in the area heard the female screaming and responded to the scene and broadcasted a description of the suspects and requested Emergency Medical Paramedics. As the female was waiting for EMS , she used her purse as a pillow. When the victim was in the ambulance, she discovered her purse was missing.
The female was transported to a hospital where she was treated for a broken leg. The male victim was also transported to the hospital and was treated for a mild concussion, fractured jaw and nose.
One of the suspects was described as a Caucasian male who appeared to be dirty, in his 20�s, 6�1� tall, thin build with a thin face. He had a beard and auburn color hair in a pony tail. He was wearing a light color T shirt and dark color pants.
The incident is on-going and detectives are in the process of determining if any surveillance cameras captured the incident.
Investigators are currently working on the incident and at this time the report is not available. Notification will be made to the media when the report is complete and ready for dissemination.
Investigators are in the process of identifying the suspects, as well as a motive. Eighth District Detective Sergeant Nicholas Gernon is in charge of the investigation. Citizens with information that can help solve this crime are asked to call CRIMESTOPPERS at 822-1111, toll-free 1-877-903-STOP(7867). You could receive a cash reward of up to $2,500.00 for information leading to the arrest and indictment of the responsible person(s). You do not have to give your name nor testify to receive the reward.

Amusing to see the Rats in Louisiana attack Jindal because of his parents’ nationality (Jindal was born in U.S.). In certain parishes an anti-Jindal handout darkened his face.
The segregationists were Democrats as well. Read that MLK was registered as a Republican but haven’t been able to verify this. Amusing things out there you won’t find in the history books.
A couple of snub-nosed .38s would have stopped this.

As awful as this is, I wonder was there just the one 20 something punk thug or were there several involved. her boyfriend looked to be pretty good size and at the very least, I hope he inflicted some whopass on this thug.
Really distressing to see the calls for designation of “hate crime”. Y’all do realize that the liberals pushed for hate crime legislation and that punishing people for “thought” is not a conservative value, right?
I forgot to add my /sarc tag. Yes, I know. But this really is beyond the pale. Attacking people for wearing a POLITICAL PIN advocating a famous political celebrity? That’s pretty low, considering the severity of the injuries! And who stole her purse? Had to be one of the EMTs or other police personnel, I would think...

When I lived in the university town of Gainesville, Florida, the GOP office was attacked several times. It was in a black neighborhood, and blacks used to follow us to our cars and taunt us with chants but never did anything physical.
The really aggressive folks were the university faculty members. One of them was arrested after throwing bricks through our window at night.
My favorite, however, was the white male UF faculty member who was arrested for attacking a cardboard cutout of GWB we had in the doorway!
These people are nuts.

I passed Brennan’s restaurant that night and saw a group of about 30-40 young leftwing losers protesting outside of the place. They were holding pro healthcare signs ,etc. A gaggle of useless stereotypical, no-nothing fools with nothing better to do.
As for 'Sarah' pin. . .it is being denied; but maybe better for public perception; and possible inflamatory rhetoric - and future incitement - NOT to mention Sarah's name with this. Whether true or not. ..
