“I posted it because it surprised me that he made a statement like that. He only used “I” once in it. I guess he couldn’t figure out a way to make it about himself, and he didn’t care to know the Polish president enough for a mini-vignette.”

Hey, it was early Sat. morning so some press office flunkie was on duty who hadn’t quite channeled the whole Osama Obama thing yet.

I probably shouldn’t have posted this, because it was just something that appeared on my Florida state area from a local Freeper who had heard it on the radio. I assumed that if it was on the radio in Miami, it would have been broadcast elsewhere (and I assumed that the Freeper had heard it correctly) and somebody else might have had more information.

In any case, I don’t think Obama actually has the power to prevent Bush from traveling wherever he wants to, but I guess he could make it more costly by not providing any security. But this seems a little brazen even for Obama.

The poster now says that the report ran two or three times on WOID and was then pulled. He (or she?) contacted the station to ask why the report disappeared and was told that the producer will call back later with more information.

Thanks very much for that information. Keep us posted if you learn anything new. When I lived in Miami, Larry King had a radio show on WIOD. That was a looooooong time ago.LOL! I seem to remember that I was in seventh or eighth grade.

Does anyone know where he went? Who he met? What they did?

I wonder if his coke dealer is one of the parents at the soccer game.

I have seen no such video of this, because he has done no such thing. What a dickhead.

The Polish are not muzzlems. No need to treat them well.

Strange. It sounds like Obama is trying to get a piece of ass on the side, without the Media knowing about it. Hmmm.

if he DID go to a soccer game for his daughter, than good for him. The press does not need to make that into a press opportunity.

While I despise the man, I respect his desire to be “normal” once in a while with his kids.

That’s the problem. He WASN’T seen at the soccer game. Who was he with and what was he doing?

With all of the crap going on these days, it would nice to think that he was threatening someone behind the scenes....

“I just saw a report from a Miami Freeper who heard on an ABC radio news station that the WH has told GW and Laura Bush that they may not attend the Polish President’s funeral and that no Secret Service will be provided for them if they go on their own. Anybody know if this is true?”

~ ~ ~

OMG ... that would be lower than sewer rat low. Pres. Bush and Pres. Kaczynski were very close allies. If he truly wants to go, I believe he’ll go, and he’ll be welcomed by the Polish people with open arms, his own security or not.

All I can find is this:

Obama’s predecessor, George W. Bush, said he and his wife Laura were “deeply saddened” by the tragedy.

“President Kaczynski was a strong defender of freedom and a friend to the United States,” he said.

“On this sad day, we send our heartfelt condolences to people of Poland, and especially to the families of all those lost in this tragic accident. We will keep them in our thoughts and prayers.”

Obama has no authority over President Bush’s secret service detail.

My understanding is that President and Mrs. Bush have SS protection by statute and that would be that. If something else turns out to be the case, I will go to DC and throw stones at the wh personally.

Right. I don’t know where it is written that Obama or any sitting president has authority over any former president’s secret service detail.

Jimmy Carter, for example, travels to enemy countries with secret service in tow.

Wait a minute.....

Don't President and Mrs. Bush get security wherever they go?

How could Obama keep them from having the SS who protect them just because they would be in Poland?

I have NO doubt that he would try because he wouldn't want the world to see what they have lost in President Bush, and the sorry mess we're in because of Obama, but can he??

I don't think so.

Maybe he was dropping off top-secret information to the Russians or the Iranians?
