[translation from a Polish website]
Supreme Polish leaders, including the President of the Republic of Poland, Mr Lech Kaczynski and his legendary predecessor, the President of Poland In Exile, Mr. Ryszard Kaczorowski, as well as almost entire Staff of the Polish Armed Forces die in the crash near Smolensk, Russia.

General Staff pay their tribute to late Pope John Paul II
MAY THE ETERNAL LIGHT OF CHRIST BE NOW WITH YOU ALL
More likely we will see the EU try to install a more EU friendly president. (But the Polish PM is an EU-phile.)
It is a very sad morning, we grieve with you.
Prayers for Poland and her people.
This'll no doubt put a smile on the face of a certain Kenyan.
Did they wake him and give him the news, or just wait and put a little folded note with a smiley face on his breakfast tray when he finally rouses at the crack of nine?
I suspect the invite to Russia was a setup for this. I suppose I could be wrong. Accidents do happen, don't they.
The current ruling junta.
NO cheers, unfortunately.
One of the maoist’s first acts was to cancel plans for missile defense system in Poland.
Not really.
I am glad if you are right, and please accept my sincere condolences.
Accidents do happen and the “Tupo’s” are flying death traps with 5 or 6 fatal crashes in the last 6 years!
The Polish people will move West if there is even a hint of foul play or some nation trying to take advantage of the situation.
Compared to our President’s [*] fierce anti-EU policy anyone could look like an EU-phile. The loss is unbelievable. I look at the list of victims and I can’t believe.:(
Once again the cream of the Polish military dies amid the trees of a Russian forest. Putin was pleased I’m sure.
RIP.
What a terrible tragedy and loss for what is left of free Europe.
Praying for the strength of the Polish people to overcome this loss.
Poland has become a staunch ally of the US. Now a big portion of the government gets wiped out in Russia. The Russkies are blaming fog and pilot error almost immediately after the crash (yeah sure). And of course the Russkies will be conducting an investigation. One can’t forget how Putin has taken care of his political opponents (poison) in the past. We’ll probably never know if a missile took down this plane.
Somewhere I saw the phrase “Soviet-era Ilyushin” associated with this crash.
It is fully within the realm of possibilities that this really is “just an accident”. Not certain, but plausible.
