A would-be saboteur arrested today at the Large Hadron Collider in Switzerland made the bizarre claim that he was from the future. Eloi Cole, a strangely dressed young man, said that he had travelled back in time to prevent the LHC from destroying the world.

Police said Mr Cole, who was wearing a bow tie and rather too much tweed for his age, would not reveal his country of origin. "

Cool. Ask him who wins the 2010 World Series and lock him up until it’s over.

That’s just my neighbor. I was wondering where he went. He’s usually fairly normal except when he does that future routine.

"Mr Cole was taken to a secure mental health facility in Geneva but later disappeared from his cell. Police are baffled, but not that bothered." Rather "Onion" like.

“Eloi” - right out of HG Well’s “The Time Machine”.

"Mr Cole was taken to a secure mental health facility in Geneva but later disappeared from his cell. Police are baffled, but not that bothered."This last sentence makes me wonder if they sent us back in time 8 days.

If he is from the future why don’t they stop the LHC in the future?

If the world was destroyed by the Hadron collider, then how is it possible for this guy to travel back in time to warn us? He would have been killed with everybody else.
If I could go back in time, I'd go back to 1620 and I'd sit on Plymouth Rock waiting for the Mayflower to arrive. I'd be wearing a warm jacket and would be listening to my iPod. I would give those people one hell of a jolt, that's for sure.

If he is from the future, then he should have known he would be arrested. If he didn’t know, then he has already altered the future, in which case, he quite probably wouldn’t have been able to come here. Nothing but paradoxes! However, due to “advances” in String Theory, physicists are considering the concept of multiple universes more seriously now, and that this man came from the future without causing a paradox could get him a Nobel Prize for demonstrating multiple universes. Well, Jimmie Carter, Al Gore, and Obama each have one and don’t tell me Global Warming is less nutty than coming from the future.
