Russias Sukhoi aircraft makers have brought their latest fifth-generation jet to an airfield near Zhukovski southeast of Moscow for further tests. The maiden flight was on the 29th of January and lasted 47 minutes. The plane is a computerized fighter bomber boasting cutting-edge radar and fly-by-wire systems and remarkable stealth capabilities. The latter are the result of composite materials in the design. Together with upgraded fourth-generation jets, such fighters will form the backbone of this countrys Air Force in the coming years

This is a pretty interesting aircraft.
Russian reliability and quality control issues could be resolved and improved by partnering with Israel and India -— which will have to happen as Obama is intent on destroying Israel.
It might have a problem getting through those metal beams though.
I do not think Israel is interested in Russia right now.
Bunker busting bombs???
I would disagree, and I worked for Rafael.
The USA won’t sell the F-22. Have to look elsewhere, preferably with local-sourced engines.
Israel does not want any contact with Russia unless it does something with Iran. I think that the last visit Netanyahu to Russia was very frosty.I do know that Russia is a on their nuclear target list.
Thread bump.
The reason why the US does not want to sell the F-22 and F-23 with the software source codes. The jets can switch between air-to-ground and air-to-air missions in mid-flight, thanks to some eight million lines of code. The United States will provide a way for countries to upgrade the software as necessary without revealing the source code.
Withholding the source code also protects hardware vendors from parties that clone the hardware system. For example, hardware vendors selling specific systems to China frequently provide only object code and not source code, which ensures that software must be upgraded or replaced regularly.
F-35 with an off-switch controlled by Obama and subject to disclosure by the Jew-haters in the State Department to China, Syria, whoever.
No thanks.
The Israelis want the planes serviced in Israel, which makes sense. The United States want the planes to be serviced in Italy or some other NATO country.
That’s the official reason. The real reason are software back doors.
Exactly. The US thinks that the Israelis can break the codes(which they can) and make clones of the source codes and bypass the US entirely.
It might have a problem getting through those metal beams though.
Not if they go really fast.
Bump
The issue is not bypassign the US.
The issue are enemies of Israel in the USA shutting down planes over Iran with the press of the enter key.
How come all Soviet aircraft look just like the expensively developed US prequivalent?
How many spies work at US aircraft factories and the Defence Dept/Air Force?
In fact Israel wants contacts with Russia since at least 25% of it’s population are of Russian descent most of them Russian speaking. Russians are visiting Israel visa free so does Israelis to Russia.
