In fact Israel wants contacts with Russia since at least 25% of it’s population are of Russian descent most of them Russian speaking. Russians are visiting Israel visa free so does Israelis to Russia.
Right now, Israel wants Russia to do something about Iran and they are not. That is why the last visit by Netanyahu was not so friendly.
