I celebrated with favorite music all day long, what else is new: Josh Groban, Enya, Wynonna, Alan Jackson etc. I have been around, just in different "rooms" on forum...:-)
Glad it was a good one! (((hugs)))
It was truly a nice day! (((Hugs)))
Great train pics!
Vacations should be fun & relaxing right?:)
Thanks, Connie! It sure was fun!
I could have spent the whole day on trains!
I think the best way to travel is by train. Someone else does the driving; you can walk to the restaurant; the seats are comfortable; the scenery is usually great; and if you purchase the right ticket, you get your own bed to sleep in!
I'm coming into this thread late, but I've gotta say that traveling by train is great. And I mean traveling by train not just for a "train vacation" specifically (as they do have those, too) -- but -- traveling by train to get from Point A to Point B ... as in "getting somewhere... :-)
I've used it several times in going down to California (from Portland, Oregon) and several times over to Dallas, Texas (from Portland, too)... and it's a great way to travel.
And I was "getting to a destination" in my travels by train. I've always done that. I'm not riding the train to be on a "train vacation" doncha know... :-)
I think the Coast Starlight is a great train to ride, too... as they've got a great lounge car, and then the typical dome car, too. I've usually gone on the train with my own room, so that makes it nice, too. It's great to have your own room to come back to and you can walk up and down the train and you've got a restaurant, on board, for your three meals a day (and you eat good there).
Then you've got snacks during the day, walking around on the train (I usually do so, from front to back, walking the entire length of it), taking pictures out the dome car, relaxing in the Lounge car and maybe seeing a movie in the movie theatre they have on board, too.
And in your own room, you've got your own shower and bathroom, which makes it very convenient.
I don't think you can beat it... :-)
