Their website has listed a West Virginia itinerary in recent days. They use signs in WV that say something like “Thank God for dead miners.”
The Westboro Gang likes to go to conservative areas of the country to do their thing. You would think if “God Hates Fags” is their priority, they would be in San Francisco, West LA or South Miami.
But no they target conservatives areas to add “Thank God for dead soliders” or “Thank God for dead miners.” These scum have a hidden agenda.
But whatever, be alerted in advance to their very likely presence at funerals to come...
There has to be a special place in Hell for the Westboro Church gang.
They don’t go to San Francisco, West LA or South Miami because they are basically cowards.
Knowing something about the region and the coal mining folk there (coming from a SWVA coal mining family myself), I think I can safely predict that if Phelps and merry Westboro crew travel there and start up their bulls**t protests at the funerals, they won't be going home alive.
I am a West Virginia native. If these people from Westboro show up and attempt to disrupt the funerals there might be fewer of them going home.
What a miserable existence.
For once, I wish there was a media blackout on those evil, evil people.
They use to protest outside of funerals of people who died from AIDS- they may still do so. That is how they got their start though.
If they try that in WV, they will be met by a fierce group of seriously angry tough mountaineers. They will be confronted and likely injured- and they should be. Of all the advocacy miners need, they do not need “miners died because God is avenging the US’s tolerance of “fags” “ This group crosses every boundary of sanity and decency. This would be a very good lesson to them.
I know this area and these people extremely well. I’ve got two nephews that work in this exact mine. One was there, and made it out, the other had been temporarily assigned to another mine, so wasn’t there. These people are fiercely loyal to friends and family. WBC better think twice before showing up to this one.
If Westboro goes in that area with their signs stating such things I will guess that a lot of a$$-kicking will be going on....
I wish some biker gang would just beat the living shit out of those Westboro scumbags.
If there is one place in the universe that would qualify as suicidal for the Westboro idiots to try their stunt, it would be the funeral of a West Virginia coal miner. Those are hard men doing a hard job, and they’re a brotherhood. Protesting at their funerals would not go well. At all.
