Lakin’s father Frank told the Greeley Tribune Friday that his son’s video wasn’t representative of the family. “This does not reflect the opinions or the attitude of the family by any means,” he said. “We’re Obama supporters.”

So, they got ONE good one out of that horseshit gene pool...

Lt. Col. Lakin is defining himself as a true leader. The presence of brave leaders such as Lakin in our military conserves its integrity.

In failing to act honorably and clear up the questions regarding his background, Obama legitimizes Lakin’s actions.

Anyone in Lt. Col. Lakin’s position (who’s also paying attention) is faced with a difficult choice between 1) having to submit to his commanders no matter what, and 2) the possibility of issuing illegal orders.

Those with the highest sense of morals and an understanding of basic constitutional principles will find greater weight with #2.

Those who are more likely to follow the crowd and act according to blind faith in their leaders will more likely choose #1.

I would say Lt. Col. Lakin is a very brave man of particularly strong character who also has an accurate sense of morality.

“In a remarkable shifting of the traditional legal burden of proof, the plaintiff in this case unashamedly alleges that defendant has the burden to prove his ‘natural born’ status,” Land wrote at the time. “Any middle school civics student would readily recognize the irony of abandoning fundamental principles upon which our country was founded in order to purportedly ‘protect and preserve’ those very principles.”

What do you legal types here think of what Judge Land says in the case of Connie Rhodes?

He is putting his freedom where his mouth is.

For that I do have to admire him.

“But volunteers are under no order to deploy and so his request was merely rescinded.”

What? Since we have a totally volunteer military does this mean that anyone who requests to have their orders rescinded would be allowed to do so? And would be given permission?

*******

And what happens to the military doctor when sometime down the road Hawaii releases Obama's long form birth certificate to the public and there is no doctor or hospital name on it?

Does the doctor get a public apology from our government and the return of all his military back pay and benefits and a promotion?

I disagree. This man is a commissioned officer and has received a lawful order to deploy, which he is disobeying. The President didn't sign those orders and the question of his legitimacy is irrelevent.

Plus, the fact is Obama was elected by the Electoral College and sworn in by the Chief Justice. Unless he is impeached or some court of competent jurisdiction declares him unqualified, he is in fact the President and any officer must obey his lawful orders. It has nothing to do with who does or does not "support" the putz.

He should tell his family he doesn’t want to go to an illegal war.

Then he’d be a ....criminal/hero depending on how jounalists covering the story feel at the given moment...

Though many around here will not like this, Lt. Col. Lakin is disobeying a lawful order by his commanders. Given that the states placed Pres. Obama on the ballot without requiring him to produce an original birth certificate and that both the state election commissions and Congress certified the election, Lt. Col. Lakin will be convicted of disobeying a lawful order if he goes to court martial. He simply does not have the ability to unilaterally decide that the order is unlawful. Before pursuing this further, he really needs to get good legal counsel from a senior JAG defense attorney familiar with the details of the UCMJ.

Talk about brainwashed stupidity. His father is the one in need of a brain scan, except that it would likely just turn out to be blank.

Well, la-de-dah. Who gives a damn what his family thinks/feels/belives?

Mark Levin on his show today played the Michelle Obama sound bite where she slips up and confesses that Obama’s home country is Kenya....

However... in preface to playing that clip, he said: “I’m not a birther.... “ and then proceeds to refer to Michelle as one because of what she said.

Now... When Mark Levin said: “I’m not a birther”, what did he mean by that? That he questions where Barry was born? or that he questions his eligibility? or that he questions the importance of the constitution where eligibility is defined?

BUT... more importantly, WHY DID HE feel like he needed to say that???

He DID call Michelle a birther... because she made reference to Barry’s “HOME COUNTRY”... so if this is what a “Birther” is, what is wrong with those of us who also believe that Barry was born in Kenya???

Did Mark Levin distance himself from birthers because the media has so successfully demonized those who demand proof of eligibility? Or did he do it because he doesn’t care what the constitution has to say about this issue???

Are all birthers “jerks”??? Why?

See what happens when we turn the other cheek?

The relevance of our constitution is made moot.
