CINCINNATI (AP) - A "drunk and belligerent" 17-year-old Notre Dame football recruit was killed in a fall from a fifth-floor hotel balcony during his senior-year spring break in Florida, authorities said Saturday.

prayers for his family and friends...........
Radio all day long kept calling him a gentle giant a teddybear.
It is a shame what happened,17yrs olds should not be drunk and
belligerent...
RIP..
OTOH, A Darwin award has been granted.
Allowing your teenager to go to a wild Spring Break location is equivalent to child abuse, IMO. What good can come of it?
I was born and raised not far from Panama City. I am only a couple of hundred yards from a North-South hwy. and it has been full of spring breakers for a few weeks.
I cannot imagine a family allowing their kid to go to spring break, tho this group had adults along. Apparently not doing their job.

Unfortunate.
If Notre Dame was recruiting him, I am sure he was sought after by many schools. Alas, this sometimes makes players believe they can do no wrong and are invincible.
Prayers for his family as well.
A sad tale, but one that could serve our elected officials very well.
One of the little problems with being among the chosen is that soon you learn that rules apply only to others not so blessed. Then you find that the rules of physics and the universe aren’t so easily waived just because of your transient popularity.
LOL :>)
When I was a teen on Spring Break in Daytona I watched a guy jump from the 7th floor balcony directly beneath my 8th floor balcony. Swan dive to the alley below.
He was tripping on something. Amazingly he didn’t die right away even though he landed on his head.
Spring Break and teens don’t mix.
Wait. Was this a trip of just kids? If it was, I wonder why his parents thought this trip was a good idea? It seems to have “bad idea” written all over it.
Considering some of the things I did when I was young, I can’t claim any high ground on this young man. It was stupid, to be sure, but a lot of us survived doing stupider things.
My favorite line from Bill “the mailman” Martin about people who go after this kid over being young and stupid: “You don’t drink cause your liver won’t let you. You don’t smoke cause your lungs won’t let you. You don’t run around cause your body won’t let you. You’re not holy. You’re old.”
THAT was MY thought too.....he was ONLY 17....
Most likely the ‘party’ only slowed down for an hour. Once all the cops-medics left the area, the kegs returned.
Our nation’s future
That was my initial thought. According to the story, though, a half dozen parents went with the group. I still wouldn’t let my kid go to the coast for Spring Break, though. I have some friends that work emergency services in some beach towns and the majority of their calls are on drunk high school kids. Lotta guys that get busted up doing stupid things while drunk and a lotta girls that get drunk and into situations they weren’t ready to deal with.
Kids think death belongs to someone else, never them.
What a way to ruin a spring break party.
Friends don’t let friends fall over balconies when they’re drunk. Especially friends of those who are future NFL stars. This story is nauseating.
Prayers going up!
