Judge voices horror at cat killing

A teen who horrified a judge and seasoned animal cruelty officers by brutally beating and stabbing his cat to death -- because it defecated in the house -- has been prohibited from owning pets for 10 years.

The 17-year-old also received two years probation Thursday after pleading guilty to unlawfully killing an animal, after he put his cat in a garbage bag and stabbed and kicked it before tossing it over a fence.

Justice Lloyd Dean, who has two cats, called the young man's actions "despicable" and said he had to set aside his own feelings during sentencing.

"This is something that strikes at the heart for me," Dean said.

Anyone who would kill a small animal would kill a baby or child, neither of which is capable of making a reasoned decision. Anyone who would kill them is a potential danger to society.

Killing a small family pet out of anger, dog or cat, is not hunting.

As to my going hunting, I own two gun dogs, trained to hunt. I feed what I kill to the dogs. They love the taste of wild duck more than I do.

Most, if not all serial killers tortured, abused, destroyed, and killed any and all animals that they could get their hands on, once they got enough balls, they started killing people. If you think for one instant that torturing and killing animals is something that boys just do, you should really evaluate any past instances in your life where maybe one of your boys tortured or killed an animal, for no reason. I’m assuming that this has occured due to your boys will be boys attitude. You may have raised a serial killer and not even known it, most serial killers are outstanding citizens, very much like all of your boys.
