Kindergarten teacher: Woods lied about school race incident (says Tiger lied about racial abuse)
The New York Post ^ | April 2, 2010 | NY Post Staff

(edit)

In the book, the story Tiger told includes the tale of when he was beaten down in the playground by a group of racist white kids.

"I became aware of my racial identity on my first day of school, on my first day of kindergarten. A group of sixth graders tied me to a tree, spray-painted the word 'n-----' on me, and threw rocks at me. That was my first day of school. And the teacher really didn't do much of anything," according to the book.

Decker said she has decided to address the issue five days after the book was released because she was not able to "get through to" Woods.

"I want a public apology and a private apology," she said.

Decker, who is also mentioned in a video about Tiger's life, said she's not looking for any money from Woods.

The retired teacher also said there was no way older students could ever enter the area where the kindergarten kids played.

"Teachers do very hard work. ... It is unfair to get this in return," said Allred, who does not plan to file a lawsuit in regards to the incident.

In addition, the former principal of the Cerritos Elementary School, in Cypress, Calif., where Tiger attended, said he has no knowledge of the incident.

A parent, Linda DaViega, who was always around the school at that time period, also said she has never heard of such an incident happening.

>>>Yes, the younger kids have their own play ground so the older kids would not have been able to torment him as he states. That is why I called Tiger a liar<<<

Do you really believe there is no way for the 6th graders to access the kindergarten kids’ playground? In every elementary school that I or my children every attended, the older kids certainly could get at the little kids.

While I don’t really believe Tiger’s story, that particular statement by the teacher makes me more likely to believe it, rather than less. When people make up phony reasons that a story “can’t be true”, it makes me think it might be true.

I only read the story. I’ll take a look at the video to see how convincing she seem.

That sounds a lot like the corresponding fictional narrative from Angry Barry Soetoro.

Yeah. Kids at school had access to spray paint. What a liar.
-———————————————————————————>

I agree. Most 6th grades have an arsenal of spray paint and racial predjudices in their lunch boxes for these early morning hijinks's.

Maybe MJ and JJ are rubbing off on this clown after all.

It will be an interesting Masters!

Do I believe that older kids could get into the kindergarten play ground, sure. Do I believe this happened, no. Tiger is a liar.

"I became aware of my racial identity on my first day of school, on my first day of kindergarten. A group of sixth graders tied me to a tree, spray-painted the word 'n-----' on me, and threw rocks at me. That was my first day of school. And the teacher really didn't do much of anything," according to the book.

At first I couldn’t remember what you meant. I used to watch “Smallivlle” then I remembered where they tied him up in a corn field, very similar to Christ on the cross and that was no coincidence.

At the time, I thought it was a good story but total nonsense. No school would allow that to go on year after year. The parents of the kid tied up would go to the cops and the bullies would probably end up in jail.

As far as Tiger’s story, it is nonsense on the face of it. No kindergarten allows the kids to be unsupervised. I don’t even thin a KKK run kindergarten would allow that kind of behavior.

Anyone who believes that story is an idiot or Woods apologist.

I was born in Orange county, and have live my entire life here save for two years after college in nearby Long Beach, California. Let me tell you what is wrong with this story.

First, Cerritos Elementary is not in Cypress, but the nearby city of Cerritos, which is actually in Los Angeles County. It may be the writer meant to Cypress Elementary, which was in fact in Orange County, but I don’t know when it closed.

Second, the story is a second hand account from Charles Barkley, who is not the most impeccable of witnesses.

Third, another account states that Tiger claimed that his was “the only minority family in all of Cypress, California.” That is almost certainly false. I could check via old phone books to be sure but there were undoubtedly hispanic and asian families there at that time.

Fourth, if the incident happened on school grounds, there would have been adults around to watch the kids and it would have been seen. Kindergarten age kids are fenced off from the other grades around here, and someone would have know. It would NOT have been swept under the rug.

Fifth, Cypress was and is an upscale community and it’s unlikely anything like this would happen there.

Finally, I can cite certain incidents of racial animosity in Orange County over the years, but I know of NO examples of such things as are alleged in this story happening to ANY minority and that goes back over fifty years.

Can one develop a racist attitude because of black trash> I know we have white trash and I’m beginning to think that’s (almost) all they have. A different mentality and morality for sure.

If I had simply stumbled across the passage from Barkley’s book, I would probably think there was about a 20% chance the story was more or less true and a 80% it was false or grossly exaggerated.

But the way the teacher came forward, 5 years after the book was published, a week before Woods makes his comeback at the Masters, claiming that the story caused her serious physical illness,(which sounds like the prelude to a lawsuit) and giving a bogus reason why it couldn’t have happened, with Gloria Allred (a female version of John Edwards in my book) at her side, it makes me think the odds are more like 40% true, 60% false.

How ironic that Tiger Woods screamed racism when his own X-rated text messages are filled with sexism. If a conservative had expressed lust for such violence against women and such vile comments that I cannot repeat here, the media would have made a huge, huge deal out of it.

More than ever I do not believe when he said he never used steroids.

Q: What's the difference between a golf ball and a Cadillac Escalade?
A: Tiger Woods can drive a golf ball 300 yards without hitting a tree.

What? Kindergardeners have their own play ground. What a freaking liar. Oh, wait maybe he needs liar rehab now.

Yeah and how many 6th graders do you know who run around in school with cans of spray paint ? You can't even buy them in California if you are under 18.

Well at my kids kindergarten there was a separate playground, fenced, gate locked. And all the grades had recess at seperate times. The administrators weren't so dumb as to put kindergartners out on the playground with 6th graders. That was true even back when I was in kindergarten; separated playgrounds, separated times.
